After deliberating for about two years and consulting five plastic surgery clinics, I searched for reviews through this community and finally had rhinoplasty at Kowon on September 19. The main reason I chose Kowon was that I had threads inserted into my nose about four years ago. Other clinics said I would need thread removal first and rhinoplasty several months later, but Kowon said both could be done together while removing them. They also provided a sincere consultation. (Of course, an aesthetic sense was essential.) The surgery was performed under sedation as an open rhinoplasty without an implant, using ear cartilage for the nasal tip, removing the dorsal hump, and improving deviated septum. There was no pain at all during surgery. On day 1, swelling was mild and I had slight nosebleeds. My throat was really sore and painful ((throat lozenges and a squeeze-bottle sauce container were very helpful)). On day 2, swelling and pain gradually increased and the nosebleed continued, but my throat felt better than on day 1. Day 3 was the peak of swelling… It became swollen as if I had been stung by a bee, and my eyes also became very puffy. It may differ by person, but day 3 was my peak. I went in to have the cotton removed that day, and removing the tube in the left nostril was much more painful than removing the cotton. Thankfully, they also gave me about 10 minutes of swelling-reduction laser treatment. On day 4, I could see the swelling starting to go down. On day 5, I washed my hair for the first time. It was difficult to do alone, so my family helped me. Because of the holiday period, I had my stitches removed early by a nurse. The pain from removing the nasal stitches was tolerable. My ear hurt more. They took such good care of me that I even received swelling-reduction laser treatment that day, and the nurse was very kind. I used Esroban ointment through October 8, then started Noscarna from October 13 because I heard it was good for scar removal, but the wound did not seem fully healed, so I have been using Fucidin since October 14. The swelling has not completely subsided yet, so I need to watch the progress, but so far I am satisfied with the natural-looking nose I wanted. One slightly disappointing point is that I wanted a softer impression, but people around me said my impression became sharper. I think this is a matter of my original facial features. There is nothing I would call a complication yet. Thank you.
