Nose Re-Surgery

Anyone develop contracture after autologous rib cartilage? Anyone whose graft was absorbed too?

I was so frustrated that I posted this in another community too, but there seem to be too many paid promoters there lately, so I’m posting here as well T_T

This is my fifth rhinoplasty. After inflammation from an L-shaped silicone implant in the first surgery, I had inflammation-removal surgery as the second, and silicone removal as the third. I lived that way until I found a well-known hospital for reconstructing a contracted nose with autologous costal cartilage. In the fourth surgery, I had the contracture corrected, but developed warping of the nasal bridge and an overly pointed tip, so in the fifth surgery I had the warping corrected and the tip reinforced.

I didn’t return completely to my original appearance after surgery, but my shortened nose became much longer, so I was satisfied. I even posted a review and thought, “Autologous rib cartilage really is the answer for contracture!”

However, as each year passed, I gradually felt that the nasal tip was being absorbed, so I had photos taken and kept records every year at the hospital. When I looked at them last year, the formerly full, lowered tip had almost completely disappeared—perhaps because it had been absorbed—and had become shorter. I went to the hospital in tears, but they told me that absorption of autologous rib cartilage can happen, that no particular problem was visible, and that it was better than before surgery.

Even in frontal photos, my nostrils became increasingly visible each year, and side-view photos showed the tip gradually shortening. But I had already had an open approach five times, and there seemed to be no way to prevent it, so I tried to accept it.

Although the tip seemed completely absorbed, it was still better than when the contracture had occurred, so I decided to be satisfied. Recently, my mom asked whether my nose seemed to be becoming abnormal again T_T Looking closely, the tip had been absorbed until there was nothing left to absorb, and it was starting to lift again little by little. The hospital where I had surgery had disappeared, and the surgeon had moved to a new hospital. When I contacted him, he said he would see me.

But even if I go, plastic surgeons always just say that everything is fine, so I wonder what the point of a consultation is I’m also pregnant again, so there is not much I can do right now

I’m leaving this post because looking in the mirror is so stressful and depressing. Can contracture recur even after correction with autologous rib cartilage, as in my case...? I’d like to know whether anyone has experienced absorption or contracture after autologous rib cartilage surgery. If so, revision surgery would seem pointless too, and I’m so depressed because I don’t know what to do Autologous rib cartilage requires general anesthesia and revision surgery is difficult, and I paid over 10 million won in hospital costs.... Please help if you’ve had a similar experience
