On 6/14, I had cheekbone, square jaw, and chin surgery at The Standard of Contouring, and after getting my stitches removed at week 2, I went back to the hospital for a progress check and care! I had a lot done, right haha I was worried because so many people said stitch removal hurts… and yes, getting stitches removed does hurt!!! But they somehow made it not hurt, so I was touched…! I also received a treatment called Cryocell that makes the skin feel cool! After surgery, you can’t exfoliate for a few days and things like that, so my face had a lot of heat, but it was nice because the swelling went down and the heat also settled.. sob sob… skincare is the hardest… At first, I think the care is similar at every hospital, but I still really liked how they seemed to be looking after me! And they said swelling care is unlimited, so I’m planning to go often haha
In my case, my cheekbone asymmetry was severe and my mandible was on the smaller side, but from the front my face looked wide, so I thought, I just wish that part were gone! I wanted a frontal effect through the overall line and cortical osteotomy while keeping the angle under the ears!!
I had a CT scan and checked my progress, and that was when it really hit me that I had surgery. I saw with my own eyes that the bones had changed...! (I took pictures and kept looking at them at home, feeling how amazing plastic surgery is… wow…) While doing that, I asked a whole bunch of questions and asked about things I was worried about, and they always answered kindly, so each time I’m letting go of the worries that had piled up haha
In the early recovery period, you probably have a lot of worries after surgery, and I think I realized that this is exactly why you should go to a one-doctor hospital that provides good aftercare… Even if I get other plastic surgery later, I’m going to choose a hospital like this. One where communication is good! Anyway, this is how much swelling has gone down at week 2, and I’ll be off now hoping it gets even better at 1 month
