●Surgery details
I used 3 mm silicone, septal cartilage, and ear cartilage. Resection of the depressor septi nasi muscle (to prevent nasal tip drooping)
I had a small, low nose and thin skin, and the line I wanted was a straight-to-slightly-curved profile. During the consultation, they recommended a natural Kim Yoo-jung-style nose, so I asked them to do that. +They also shaved down a slight hump.
●Surgical pain and progress I was really worried there would be pain on the day after the surgery ended, but there was no pain. Even now, there has been almost no pain; other than maybe once? when it throbbed, it didn't hurt. (They prescribed one week of medication + one week of emergency medication.)
Since cotton was packed in my nose for 3 days, I couldn't sleep well during that time and felt stuffy and uncomfortable at night, but once the cotton was removed I could breathe, so it was okay. The foreign-body sensation from the silicone, like it shifted when I turned my head, also got better after about a month.
When the stitches were removed on day 7, they did it very carefully, so it didn't hurt.
As of day 45, there is still redness at the nasal tip. They said it gradually improves after one month, so I'm waiting.
●Postoperative shape After removing the splint, my glabella was swollen at first and gave an Avatar-like feeling, but from around the one-month mark, I think a lot of the swelling between the brows went down. Before surgery, I had no nasal bridge at all between the brows, so after surgery I'm a bit concerned about the silicone edge.
I was worried it would become an upturned pig-nose shape, but after surgery I think the shape of my nostrils became prettier. My original round nostrils improved into an oval shape.
The middle of the nasal bridge looked bent, so I went in for a one-month? follow-up, and the director said to wait 6 months and that once the nasal tip becomes lower than now and the swelling goes down, it will look more natural.
● The director speaks kindly, and every time I visit the clinic after surgery, the director personally checks my nose. It's nice that whenever I'm worried after surgery, I can ask the consultant through chat.
