With an upturned nose and swelling, anyone could tell I’d had surgery. After about 2 weeks, the abnormally swollen part goes down, but even so, for a little over a month the nose is still very lifted. The scar is red and very noticeable.
2. 1 month~2 months I started to look a bit more human, but the nasal tip was still lifted. Maybe because I only had the tip done, only the tip was way too pointed and high, so it looked unnatural. I looked like a mouse, so I thought my nose surgery had gone wrong and even called the plastic surgery clinic to ask when revision surgery would be possible. The consultation staff, who were already used to people like me, kindly told me I had to wait until 6 months. I figured that whatever I did, I’d have to wait 6 months, so from then on I stopped looking in the mirror. Because it was the contraction phase, my nose was actually harder than before the 1-month mark. Until one month, I didn’t have the feeling that my nasal tip was tightly constricted, but during this period, I actually felt like the tip had hardened and didn’t move well. The swelling in the philtrum started to go down little by little. The scar also started changing little by little from pink to skin-colored. Still, when I met friends, they said it was still obvious I’d had my nose done.
3. ~3 months One day I looked in the mirror and it had become much more natural. It hadn’t come down as much as I wanted, but the lifted nasal tip that made me look like a mouse and the overly pointy tip had improved a lot. Of course, I’m still a bit disappointed. I went for my 3-month consultation and asked the doctor what they thought about doing revision surgery to lower it because the nasal tip seemed too high and lifted, and they said I would definitely regret it after 1 or 2 years. That’s when I realized that the shape comes out after waiting 1 year, not 6 months. Since aftercare is available up to 2 years, I just decided to wait 2 years.
4. 3 months~now It is much, much more natural than at 3 months. I realized again that plastic surgery is not a procedure where you see the final result after 1 month. I think many skilled doctors plan for 2 years and overcorrect. People who are anxious because they don’t like the shape should definitely consult the director, and if there isn’t actually a problem, they need to be prepared to look at it long-term. You may want to smash the mirror during that time, but I recommend surgery only for people who have the patience to wait at least 6 months! I’m usually very calm and the type to just accept things, but even for me the first month or two was mentally a bit hard. My skin is also on the thicker side, so I think my swelling went down one or two months later than other people’s. I’m almost at 4 months, and only now does it seem like the columella, which was lifted and made it look like an upturned nose, is gradually coming down into a normal range. Of course, from certain angles it still looks lifted. And depending on morning or night and my body condition, my nose still swells and subsides. But I’m the only one who knows these subtle changes.
