I had my primary surgery here too, but they used mesh as the implant back then, and after two years an inflammatory reaction occurred, so I had it removed and replaced with autologous costal cartilage. They say you shouldn’t go back to the primary-surgery hospital, but the director had been so good, professional, trustworthy, and reassuring that I proceeded with my revision here again too. I wanted my nose to come out like it did after the primary surgery, but even though it was done with autologous costal cartilage, it was not glamorous at all and looked blunt. The nasal tip position was much higher than before, so my nose looked upturned and my nostrils showed. Still, I thought I should be grateful there was no inflammation, but now, a year and a half later, the swelling has gone down as much as it can and my nose has gotten smaller, so it looks too blunt, and I’m thinking about a re-revision.
