I went for consultations for revision rhinoplasty. I like a natural-looking nose (I don't like semi-flashy or flashy styles). Currently, I had silicone removed due to inflammation, and my nose is slightly contracted. There is internal scar tissue, so the skin does not stretch. The columella is tucked in, so from the side my nose looks cut off. This is my biggest stress, so I want to improve the columella and nasolabial angle. I currently have filler in the nasal bridge.
ㅇㄷㅇㅇㅇ (Director ㅇㅇㅇ)
This doctor has been famous for a long time, so it was a place I definitely wanted to consult at. The atmosphere was dark and dim. The staff felt a bit cold? Director ㅇㅇㅇ had a reputation for being cynical and blunt, but to me it felt more like he just spoke very firmly, so maybe that's why that reputation spread. The consultation started with a staff member putting a headband on me and taking photos. He touched my nose from different angles and asked how I wanted my nose to look. I explained the direction I wanted. After touching my nose and looking inside as well, he explained my nose condition in detail. He said it seemed the capsule had not been properly removed during my previous removal surgery, so it was uncertain whether the nasal tip skin would stretch.. He did not recommend doing the nasal bridge, and said to operate only on the nasal tip and just get dissolvable filler for the bridge. But first, he said everything currently inside has to be fully dissolved.. ㅜㅋㅋ He said to dissolve it, have nasal tip surgery, and then get nasal bridge filler around 6 months later. And for the columella, he said it can be lowered, but if it was originally a retracted columella, there is a limit to how much it can be lowered, so we would only know after trying. He said lowering the nasal tip could also change depending on how much the skin stretches.. He asked whether my original nose had been upturned, so I said it had not been upturned and that I had a retracted columella. Then he said it would probably be able to come down, but the columella might not come out as much.. He did not say anything reassuring like he could definitely do it the way I wanted, and instead said it depends on skin tension, so I felt disappointed ㅡㅜ And he showed me before-and-after photos, including several cases like mine where it had been lowered well. He drew diagrams and explained hard about implants, capsule, contracture, and inflammation.. He said the nasal bridge was not possible because inflammation could happen again due to the previous silicone inflammation, and he also did not recommend autologous dermis or donated dermis at all. Since I nodded and listened carefully, he explained very passionately. The consultant talked about the cost and aftercare, and I think she said the AS period was 1 year.. but I didn't write it down, so I don't remember wellㅠㅋㅋ The price too.. It was about what I expected, so for revision surgery I felt it was reasonable ((maybe I felt it was okay because other places were so expensive), but I passed because there was no certainty about the columella and nasolabial angle. But I do think capsule removal is necessaryㅠ and he really seemed good at removal. He looked confident.
ㄱㅇㅈ Plastic Surgery (Director ㄱㅇㅈ) There are no review photos, so this place is also very well-known by word of mouth. An old building, unusual interior, kind of like a tarot-reading place.. But after looking at the blog, I saw that the director had even brought in camping chairs he likes ㅋㅋ It seems he likes that kind of atmosphere. For nose shape, he seems to pursue naturalness, and he seemed not to use silicone much. I went straight into the consultation with no waiting time.. My first impression was very much like a doctor/professor. Somehow, he felt like someone who had studied and thought a lot.. Overall, unlike other hospitals, it did not feel clean, but it was so unique that it stayed in my memory. As soon as the director saw me, he used a cotton swab to make a nose shape, and a staff member took a side-profile photo with my camera. Because the nasal tip area would not stretch, the resulting photo looked strangeㅋㅋ And during the consultation, he said my current nose is short, giving a cute and youthful image, and asked whether I really needed to lower and lengthen it.. He told me to think carefully, saying that image would change, and that I would look more mature and older.. Then he showed me several nose before-and-after photos, and I liked all of them. He seemed to handle the columella and nasolabial angle prettily and well, and rather than a straight-to-slight-curve nose, he seemed to make a naturally slightly upturned, ski-slope-style nose. But in the end, he asked whether I really needed surgery ㅠ He said for a woman's nose, it is pretty when the nostrils show a little, and my current nose was not that upturned; the columella was tucked in, but it was not bad.. From the patient's standpoint, it costs money, wastes time, etc. He kept telling me to think carefully, saying my current image was not badㅋㅋ He told me to pull my nose down, show my family, ask what they think, and think about it. Without explaining the surgical method, he suddenly told me to talk to the staff, so I came out feeling bewildered ㅋㅋㅋ I already knew he often sends people away, so I asked the staff, “Did I get rejected?” and she said no.. Then she showed me something written as 1. Just live with it 2. If you really want it. But for materials, she said he uses ear cartilage and fascia. If I really want it, he would do the surgery, but she told me to think it over carefully and contact them again once I make up my mind ㅠㅋㅋ She said I would need another consultation before surgery anyway.. The price was the most reasonable among the places I visited. However, what worries me is that my nasal tip does not stretch because there is internal scar tissue, but he did not really mention that part or say how he would handle it, so I wonder whether my nose can be lengthened using only soft ear cartilage.. I plan to go for another consultation. If he still does not mention it then, I intend to ask first how he would do the surgery and talk about it. The fact that he tried to send me away was a bit shocking, so it stayed in my memory. Still, he did not say he could not do it, but that he would do it if I really wanted, so I want to go for another consultation to see whether only the areas I feel complex about can be improved naturally ㅜㅜㅎㅎ I think people who want a natural-looking nose could try going for a consultation. The before-and-after photos he showed had a pretty nasolabial angle and were really natural.
For nose consultations, now I only have one place left, Cha Min, on 9/2.. I feel like I have been to almost all the places that do natural-looking noses, but is there anywhere else I should try going..? After visiting 7 places, I feel like I roughly know what kind of nose I have. After doing a lot of consultation legwork, there are parts where each director gives the same opinion and parts that differ, but the common points become clearer, and I like that I have come to understand my nose better ..! ㅠ I hope this consultation review is a little helpful to everyone here.
