Reason I decided on revision surgery: a rupture was found during a breast ultrasound checkup.. A rupture after 8 years. I started asking around for clinics. It happened to be Allergan, so I was even more worried.. Since getting the checkup, I feel like I have almost never slept comfortably. From night until dawn, I kept looking up revision surgery reviews and removal reviews,, I felt lost and distressed about what to do.
Then the reviews from people who had revision surgery at those two places resonated with me the most, so I booked consultations and went around in person.
ㄱㄹ -Breast surgery department. The ultrasound director personally looked again. They said it was indeed a rupture. I was recommended capsulectomy and revision surgery. Allergan -> Motiva. Inframammary incision. Up to 335 is possible, but they recommended 315 to be safe. The consultation with the doctor was not very long, but the manager spent a long time with me. Also, they showed and explained multiple case photos of actual surgeries, so it was easy to understand and the content was detailed, which I was satisfied with. I even thought, it would have been really nice if I had known about this place for my first surgery.. They provide a 1-year aftercare program, and AS is free once for life.
ㅇㅂㅇㅇ -It is a plastic surgery clinic, but it collaborates with a breast surgery department. I brought the CD from the ultrasound I had at ㄱㄹ and had the consultation, and I also had another ultrasound on the spot. Likewise, they said it was a rupture and recommended capsulectomy with an inframammary incision. They recommended Motiva 320~335. I liked the doctor because he explained things well and seemed very kind, but the manager felt by-the-book. It just felt like we each said what we had to say and the consultation ended. They provide aftercare for one month, and after 6 months they also provide scar care. For AS, if it is within 1 year, anesthesia fees apply; after 2 years, 50% of the surgery fee applies, and it differs by each period, so I recommend asking via KakaoTalk or during an in-person consultation.
Both are private clinics. Since clinics are something you have to visit yourself, get a consultation, and feel out directly to know accurately, just use this as reference.. After getting consultations, I suddenly wondered whether revision surgery was really right. When I read reviews from people who had removal, they said they felt relieved, refreshed, and comfortable, and I wondered if I was putting myself through more hardship on my own.. I spent quite a lot of time hesitating between revision and removal.. There may be no right answer either way, but ah, I also don't feel confident about getting back on the operating table, and yet there is no 100% guarantee that rupture or capsular contracture won't happen, so I think that makes me worry more...
But after experiencing having large breasts once, I don't want to live with my old breasts again... I also think, am I giving up my life as a woman? I felt troubled, so I wrote this review to cool my head and organize my thoughts a bit, but after writing it down, I remembered the consultation back then and my head got even more complicated
Anyway, since the choice is mine, even if I'm scared to decide, I plan to do my best to make a wise choice.
