In one way it looks glamorous, but in another way it also feels natural. That is exactly the kind of nose I like, and after searching through so many rhinoplasty reviews, including apps and cafes, the place where I got my rhinoplasty done suited my taste the most. Also, there were many successful surgery cases from people with nose shapes similar to mine. The hospital’s reputation?? The stories about consultations with the director were not bad either, and especially when I messaged the consultant on KakaoTalk after the consultation, the replies came really quickly, so I thought, ah.. this must be a place that can take responsibility all the way even after surgery! Whenever I was unsure, they answered right away and also told me additional things I was curious about, so it was relatively easy to decide. Lastly, when I had consultations at other hospitals, I felt like they were recommending things excessively, to the point where I wondered, is this surgery really necessary for me? But here, they only recommended the minimum procedures I needed, so I felt reassured.
-From consultation to surgery First, because I wanted the cosmetic aspects to improve together while getting functional rhinoplasty, I had a CT scan and then talked with the director starting from the causes of my rhinitis. After confirming that I had inferior turbinate hypertrophy and a deviated septum, I decided to receive two types of functional surgery, and they said that because of the deviated septum, the insufficient septal cartilage would be supplemented with donated costal cartilage!
After that, the consultant explained in detail about indemnity insurance, reimbursement, and insurance-related matters, and said the hospital would prepare the documents.... So honestly, I did not have much to do.. I think all I needed was one phone call with the insurance company
Even after going home, I honestly kept wavering over whether this place would be better or that place would be better. I was confused because one hospital said I needed nostril reduction, but the director at the place where I got my nose done was so serious and firm in saying I did not need nostril reduction, and the consultant also told me with confidence that my nose was one that did not need nostril reduction, so I could feel reassured and it would turn out well. That put me at ease. After that, with a nervous heart, I paid the reservation deposit and waited for the surgery date...
And then D-Day.. I went to the hospital a little earlier than the scheduled surgery time and waited. Without waiting, I changed clothes right away, cleansed, went through several procedures, and then had another detailed design consultation with the director. Looking at the CT taken when I first came for consultation and the photos taken that day, he explained again how the surgery would proceed, almost like checking it once more. He drew?? on my nose, and at that moment I got so, so nervous..
I was really closing my eyes.. Will it end safely? I was lying on the operating table thinking all kinds of thoughts, and I could not even hear what the nurse was saying, then blackout When I opened my eyes, I was in the recovery room.. It was really fascinating. I was groggy.. the world was bright.. where am I.. that kind of feeling..? The nurse came and went, checking my condition from time to time, and told me to come out once I was fully awake and to rest enough, so I was grateful..
On the day of surgery, I came home in a rush by taxi in a daze, did not even eat, and slept deeply, so the day disappeared in an instant. Even after the anesthesia fully wore off the next day, I did not have any major pain. Honestly, there was some throbbing, but since bone had been shaved, I thought this was why I was feeling that sensation.. so I did not worry too much. For about a week, I had almost no sensation, to the point where I wondered, is this my nose? They explained that it would come back with time, and just like the consultant said, as time passed it all came back, so now it feels totally fine
-After surgery Because I especially received functional rhinoplasty, the most important thing was whether my breathing had improved! First of all, the appearance passed, but inside my nose there was a lot of foreign matter? I think removing that quickly and taking care of it was the top priority. For the first month, I took a lot of care of the inside of my nose with saline solution?? It has been 2 months since I got functional rhinoplasty now, and I can confidently say it is much, much more comfortable than before.. The director said it would probably get even better after 3 months.... But even now, breathing is already incomparably easier than before surgery, you know? I wonder how much better it is supposed to get from here. I cannot estimate it, but even right now I can smell well, and when I sleep, I no longer wake up because my nose is blocked / my nasal, stuffy voice from being congested has improved too, so everyday life is easier!
