3-week review of double-line excision revision eye surgery

Before<Before surgery>After<3 weeks after surgery>After<3 weeks after surgery (app makeup)>I’m leaving a review because it’s been 3 weeks since I had revision eye surgery with the director at the clinic! I also read and referred to a lot of revision surgery reviews, so for my first review I’ll write what I remember. I had revision surgery with double-line excision + ptosis correction, and I’m satisfied with the result. If you need information, please refer to the post below.

+The photos are in the order of before surgery - after surgery (3 weeks) - after surgery (3 weeks - makeup with an app)

<Reason for surgery> First, 10 years ago I had incisional double eyelid surgery + ptosis correction at a hospital I went to with a friend (no canthoplasty, and when I looked it up, that hospital is now closed down ;). I had a high line + sausage eyelids + sleepy-looking eyes. As time passed, my eye-opening strength got weaker, so the thick, high line stood out more, and because I had to put a lot of effort into my eyes and forehead, my eye fatigue was severe. I was scared of revision surgery, so I kept only thinking about it and putting it off, but it kept getting worse, so I finally decided on revision surgery.

I heard that footwork is important for revision surgery, so I really went to many places. Most hospitals diagnosed me with double-line excision and ptosis correction. In the end, I kept comparing and thinking based on the director’s surgical skill, revision surgery experience, communication, and whether they pursued a natural-looking line, and finally decided on this clinic. (At first it felt overwhelming, but the more hospitals I visited, the firmer my standards became, so for those getting revision surgery, I recommend visiting at least 3 to 5 places.)

<Consultation> The consultation went in the order of consultant - director - consultant. Depending on the hospital atmosphere, there were times when I left without properly talking about what I wanted, but at this clinic, from the consultation stage, the director genuinely listened to me very well. So I received the consultation in a comfortable atmosphere, and while showing me cases similar to mine, he explained professionally how it could be improved and confidently said it was possible to improve, so I trusted him. + In my case, they said temporary lagophthalmos could occur, but it was only a pulling sensation on the day of surgery when I was swollen, and my eyes closed well from the first day.

<Surgery> I arrived at the hospital 30 minutes before surgery, changed clothes, washed my face, took photos, waited briefly in the recovery room, and then went into the operating room. When I went in, my eye photos were displayed on a large monitor, and at that time I had another consultation with the director.

Right before surgery, he said he would approach it as if I were his own niece or younger sibling, and I was truly so touched. At the time I was too nervous to answer, but he kept trying to help me relax. During surgery he was extremely focused, and in the latter part he kept telling me, “20 minutes left,” “10 minutes left,” “1 minute left,” and that I was doing well, so I had a rough sense of the situation and received the surgery well. I could feel the director’s sense of responsibility even during the surgery, so I thought I really made the right choice having surgery here!

<Postoperative care> I received swelling laser treatment 3 times (on the day of surgery / disinfection day / stitch removal day), and on the day the stitches were removed, the consultant booked me for LHALA Peel care and scalp care at the dermatology clinic in the same hospital upstairs, so I came back feeling really refreshed after the care. They took care of me even after surgery, so my satisfaction was truly the highest.

+ Swelling care They said walking is the answer, so since I felt okay even on the day of surgery, I walked for about 40 minutes. After that, for 2 weeks, I walked 1 to 2 hours every day. There was a difference before and after walking, so I kept doing it consistently. For food, I tried not to eat anything too spicy or salty, so until day 2 I ate porridge, and I also did cold compresses frequently until day 4. When sleeping, I stacked two pillows and used a neck pillow. I didn’t drink things like pumpkin juice, and drank one pack of coconut water at a time. I think I managed things as much as possible for 2 weeks after surgery.

<Satisfaction> From around stitch removal, the swelling decreased noticeably, and although it still needs to go down more, right now it’s so much more comfortable to open my eyes than before revision surgery, so I’m really satisfied. Now at week 3, all the bruising is gone, and there is something like a slight scar mark above my right eye, but it is gradually fading. There was one on my left eye too, but seeing that it disappeared... I think it will go away with time, so I’m waiting. I’ll also upload the 6-week and 9-week progress later.

Overall, I thought the hospital system was well established, and the director, consultant, and nurses were all kind and professional, so I recommend them.
