It’s been a while since I last came in, and it seems like there are some questions, so I’ll leave a brief note. There’s a high chance I won’t be able to check DMs even if you send them I’m ridiculously busy with real life now, so I don’t really pay much attention to my nose anymore. Naturally, I’ve stopped looking at plastic surgery communities.
I like the tip of my nose. It hasn’t dropped at all and is holding up well. I can do piggy nose, totally possible. How much I like my nose shape depends on my body condition, but on average I’ve been living with more than 85% satisfaction.
When I went to consult with Kim Se-young, there were almost no reviews. Now there are a few, probably because even his son is doing it too. When I had it done, I think I only found about 3 after digging through every plastic surgery community. This post is not for promotion either. Back when there were no reviews for this clinic, I left it for people who were truly desperate like me, hoping it would help them, so I don’t want to share other photos besides the ones I already kept~
2022-07-24 I’m leaving one photo and then deleting the photo. The reason is that I don’t want people around me to recognize me, or my photos to be floating around online.

I had my second nose surgery after 6 years at K Plus Kim Se-young Plastic Surgery Clinic. After my first surgery failed, I consulted nearly 30 places. Since the first surgery had failed so badly, choosing a clinic for revision was extremely hard, and I really wanted to do the revision, but the thought of 'what if it fails again....' made me anxious and worried first. I heard rumors that many famous celebrities had their procedures done at K Plus Kim Se-young Plastic Surgery Clinic, and from then on I really tried to gather every bit of information I could, but it was one of those mysterious clinics where review photos were truly, truly precious. So I’m attaching photos and writing this for people who are curious and interested like I was. I’m not a staff member at the clinic, and because I’m busy with real life, I probably won’t be able to reply or check DMs, so I’m writing this in detail instead. The surgery cost will differ depending on each person’s nasal condition, so rather than relying on what I say, I recommend going in person for a consultation.
- Why I chose the clinic During each consultation, Director Kim Se-young examined my nose very carefully with his hands, taking into account the facial proportions and overall image. The conversation was very sincere, and I felt he was a genuine doctor with no falsehoods. He also seemed to have a kind of stubbornness that comes from craftsmanship, and he felt like a principled person. Even though the director is older, his eyesight is excellent. He really sees down to 1 mm of the face, and I was shocked. In consultations, I’ve had experiences where I came because I hated and was irritated by even a 1 mm difference, but the doctors would talk as if it were no big deal. Director Kim Se-young seemed to accurately judge what was wrong without me having to laboriously explain everything. At my first consultation with him, I strongly felt that he was someone with very quick judgment and good intuition. At the second consultation, I also had a procedure. At that time, my facial line was somewhat asymmetrical and I was bothered by a dull-looking double chin area, and there happened to be a related event here, so I decided to get it done while I was there. The procedure was done very meticulously, and the taping and hemostasis were all done by the director himself. At that point I thought, 'So there are people who are this meticulous even with procedures, I can trust this.' And the inside of the operating room was spotless; even though it’s a private clinic, I felt it was a place with really excellent facilities.
He also told me clearly what would and would not be possible in the direction I wanted to improve, and that made me trust him more than doctors who just say everything is possible. So I quickly gave up on the things that had to be given up and lay down.
- Nose surgery details 1. First surgery, ENT clinic: I went in for rhinitis surgery, but got tricked by the head coordinator and ended up having cosmetic surgery too. To be honest, my original nose was a nose people said was pretty, a nose that didn’t need cosmetic surgery. Megaderm donated dermis / osteotomy / hump shaving / rhinitis / deviated septum / septal cartilage used for tip graft + columella support, closed approach, full sedation After the first surgery, my nose bridge became lower than my original nose (they shaved a lot off the nasal bone), an inverted-V dark line appeared, a saddle nose developed, and overall the nose became low, long, and bumpy, with a drooping long columella. There was also a hollow on the left bridge. Even with makeup, I didn’t look pretty, and even when I wore nice clothes, I just couldn’t feel excited because of that cursed nose. I became severely depressed and lost a lot of self-esteem, and because I couldn’t trust hospitals or doctors, it took about 6 years before I could even consider revision.
2. Revision, Kim Se-young Plastic Surgery Clinic: The materials used were about 3 mm of ear cartilage for the tip (cartilage from behind the ear), 2 mm silicone, no columellar strut, open approach. He said after the surgery that he pushed the long-descended cartilage inward and lifted it upward. When he designs on the face with a surgical pen, he calculates everything, including facial asymmetry and the shape of the nose. I really don’t know how he does it. Especially after my first surgery, the width and height on both sides of my nasal bone were visibly different to the naked eye, and he calculated all of that. The silicone carving was done extremely well. His sense of design seems outstanding. People say the site where ear cartilage is taken hurts, or they worry about deforming the ear shape. For me, it didn’t hurt at all, and I’ve been living very comfortably. There is not even 1 bit of ear shape deformation. For the nose surgery, the anesthesia was half-sedation, and it was so painless and comfortable that it was great. Since only one side of the nose was blocked for about half a day, it was very comfortable, and perhaps because the director controlled the bleeding so well during surgery, hardly any blood got on the gauze. It was so comfortable that I wondered if nose surgery could really be this easy. The bruising, swelling, and bleeding were honestly unbelievably minimal. I think the director’s know-how played a very big role in that. It was so, so comfortable that I bragged about it everywhere.
- Direction of the nose design and material choice I said I visited about 30 places for consultations, right? Many doctors thought my nose was a long nose, but because the starting point of the nose was high, using silicone would make it look even longer, so it would be hard to design, and they leaned toward going without an implant. Or they would say that costal cartilage is the only answer and talk as if rib cartilage was the only solution. And because the osteotomy from the first surgery hadn’t been done properly, some recommended re-osteotomy or shaving. Others said my skin was too thin and the silicone would show, so I was not suitable for surgery. My nose had ended up like this after a no-implant approach in the first surgery (using donated dermis), so I had no confidence at all in trying no-implant again. On the other hand, I had never used silicone before, and I worried about what if side effects happened, or what if I felt foreign-body discomfort or pressure. But above all, the inverted-V dark line and saddle nose were so pronounced that, given the amount of cartilage I had, I felt I couldn’t do it without silicone. The conditions I set when I decided on revision were that I would only use ear cartilage and absolutely not shave the nasal bone. The reason I didn’t want shaving was that they had already shaved off an enormous amount in the first surgery, and I felt that if they shaved any more here, my nose would no longer be a human nose and would become an extremely low nose...
- Satisfaction after the nose surgery I really like my nose now. It isn’t overdone, it suits my face naturally, and the shortcomings that stressed me out [saddle nose, inverted-V deformity, long low nose, drooping columella] are no longer visible. As the swelling went down, the nose also looked slimmer, and contrary to what several doctors said about thin skin making the silicone visible, not even 1 silicone line is visible. It doesn’t look like there is silicone in there at all, but it is definitely higher than after the first surgery, so I like it. In fact, I don’t feel any foreign-body sensation or pressure, so sometimes I even forget that silicone was inserted. In real life it looks natural, but I like the nose contour and line. It doesn’t give the feeling of 'I had my nose done' in photos, but it feels like the nose brings the face to life. My mom also said the bridge was cleaned up and became higher. My mother is from an older generation and is absolutely against plastic surgery, but she looked at my nose and was very satisfied. Seeing how satisfied my mom was is when I finally felt relieved that I had made the surgery decision well.:) As I went around consulting at many places, I became indecisive about the design, and I had many worries about revision, but he emphasized that the more complex the nose, the simpler the approach should be, and he was right. Finally, if I had to mention a distinctive point about K Plus Kim Se-young Clinic.... Moms really do bring in friends who look like they’ve just become college students, and I often saw mothers and daughters coming together in the waiting room. That made me trust it even more. What mother would tell her precious daughter to go to just any clinic? And when I had questions after surgery and called or messaged on KakaoTalk, the staff never answered on their own judgment; even minor things were checked by asking the director and confirming before they replied. Maybe because there were so few photo reviews, I consulted here three times, and information about this clinic on the internet was so scarce that in the end I made my final decision with a gambling mindset, thinking, 'If the director weren’t skilled, would he have been able to build a building on such expensive land?' Looking back now, I think the reason there are no reviews is mostly because the surgical results are good, so people are busy living their real lives and don’t leave reviews. And it’s also because this is a clinic that doesn’t do review events or marketing~
How should I wrap this up... Since the revision, I’ve been living lately without much worry about my nose. I hope this helps with choosing a clinic!
