For the surgery, the preoperative exam goes: eye exam -> medical consultation -> counseling. I definitely recommend going with a guardian on the day of the exam.. Anesthetic eye drops? were put in, and everything looked hazy and blurry. It was hard to even make out letters right in front of my eyes, so getting home was really difficult.
When the surgery starts, they insert a metal thing? that supports the eye and you go into the machine. At this time, you stare at a green light, and even if it disappears, you have to keep looking at one spot! My field of vision gradually narrowed and became blurry, and honestly I didn’t even know where I was looking... They counted down 15 seconds, 10 seconds, 5 seconds, and I just wanted to squeeze my eyes shut.. Once you endure those 25 seconds, it’s almost all done. I tried to zone out as much as possible, and once the doctor made the corneal incision, the surgery was really over.
Since it was SMILE LASIK, it didn’t hurt much, and I had no problem with daily life the same day!
