The first place I went to was ㅁㅂㅇ in Nonhyeon. This place seemed to do a lot not only for breasts but also skin treatments, so there were quite a few people. Whenever I happened to overhear conversations with the staff, most of them were about skin procedures rather than breasts. Just when I was wondering, am I the only one here for breasts? I was called in by the consultant right away and had my consultation. It was nice that there was no wait, and the consultant was extremely kind. She asked why I wanted breast surgery and what size I wanted, and I felt like she helped me relax. (The consultation ended really quickly then.) The director was also kind during the consultation. After I undressed, it was inevitably embarrassing when they measured my breast pocket and ribcage, but even then he lightened the mood with various jokes. He said, “This is an erasable pen,” and used something like a makeup pencil to mark directly on my breasts while taking measurements. He also showed me with a virtual program what it would look like if my breasts became larger than they are now, and how they would move in that state. I talked with the director up to implant fitting, size check, and measurements, and after that consultation ended, I discussed implant choice and cost with the consultant. I still haven’t chosen between Mentor and Motiva, but they told me the cost for both and said either one was fine, and to choose according to my preference. Since I went there to hear the explanations first, I listened to explanations for both. The consultant also told me the director has over 20 years of experience. I did go there after getting a recommendation for a director with a lot of experience, but I didn’t know exactly how many years..? But when I heard 20 years, I thought that really is a long time. For the diagnosis, speaking only about Motiva, I was recommended 340 cc and they suggested an inframammary incision / They said my circumference was 72 and breast pocket was 11.
The second place I went to was ㅁㅂ in Gangnam. There were several directors here, so I wondered if they all did breasts too, but after searching a bit, it seemed like only the representative director does breast surgery. When I made the reservation by phone, I was told the time could be delayed because of the director’s consultations or surgeries, but fortunately I was able to have the consultation right away as soon as I went in. Here too, I consulted with the consultant first, and it was the kind of format where she only asked the basics and then it ended! I think most places are like this. The director measured my breast pocket size and ribcage, then checked whether a transaxillary incision or inframammary incision would suit my body type better. In his view, my underarm skin is thin and my inframammary fold is distinct, so he said an inframammary incision would be better. I had already been leaning more toward an inframammary incision anyway, because I’d heard a lot that recovery is harder and that if you do it through the armpit you can’t move your arms right away after surgery, so I thought that was a relief.. One small thing that made me feel cared for was that the consultant was there during the consultation, and when I took off the gown and had my measurements taken, she quickly helped me put my clothes back on so I wouldn’t feel embarrassed, and kept helping me beside me. My breast pocket size isn’t particularly small, but because the breast size I wanted was a full C, the director’s recommended size was 320–360. I tried the fitting, and somehow.. even though it was only a small difference, should I say 320 fit my body much better? I felt like 360 might make my body look bulky if I wasn’t careful, so I said I wanted to do 320. After hearing the cost explanation, since I had heard about the director’s experience at the other clinic earlier, I asked here too, and they said this director also has over 20 years. Still, I felt like the consultation was compact but worthwhile(?). For the diagnosis, I was recommended Motiva 320 cc and they said it would be done through an inframammary incision / Here they said my circumference was 72, and the breast pocket came out the same at 11.
After coming back from the breast consultations, I thought about it more and now I’m planning to set a surgery date. Everyone, when you’re looking into breast surgery, I recommend not struggling over it alone too much and going to at least one in-person consultation before deciding. Once I went and actually touched the implants and tried the fitting, the feeling was completely different.
