I think I last posted in this community about 1 year after my nose removal.
Below is the link to the post I wrote at that time. [link omitted] (Reading it again, the spelling is a mess.. please understand.)
Without osteotomy or implant insertion, I had my nasal bridge hump shaved down and every possible manipulation done to the nasal tip. Nasal tip fat suction, tying the alar cartilages at the nasal tip, alar reduction, and I also had rhinitis surgery together haha (After removal, my rhinitis surgery has not relapsed either.)
Before I knew it, 7 years have passed since the removal. At the time, it felt like time was passing so slowly, and I was in so much psychological pain, but in the end, now I’ve forgotten it all and am living well.
The surgical method, surgery date, surgical details, and so on are written in detail in the post I wrote back then. If there are people now who have concerns similar to mine back then, I hope it can be a reference. At the time, I was having such a hard time too.
To start with the conclusion, I’m living well with no problems after removal. Honestly, for years I even forgot the fact that I had nose surgery and nose removal surgery, and when friends say they want nose surgery, I just tell them my surgery story as advice and live like that.
For about 1 year after the removal surgery, I was so careful and had such a hard time that it felt excessive. Back 7 to 8 years ago, when I was going around looking for removal information, there weren’t many removal reviews or much information in this community. A small number of community members and I would open a KakaoTalk chatroom and share removal information and progress updates, but now that’s all a memory. I don’t know what everyone is doing now, but I remember they were very happy after removal. I hope everyone is doing well haha
I still don’t bother making a pig nose.. As I wrote in my old post, there’s no occasion in life where I need to make a pig nose. My nose shape is still between my pre-surgery and post-surgery shape. (As time passes, my pre-surgery nose shape shows a little more. If I put it as a ratio, it’s about 6 pre-surgery nose shape and 4 post-surgery nose shape.) I’m very satisfied with my current nose shape haha
Like the plastic surgeons who scared me at the time said, symptoms like my nose collapsing, twisting, and making it hard to breathe, there’s absolutely none of that... lolol I drink alcohol just fine and still smoke just fine. Over the 7 years, someone has accidentally hit my nose hard several timesㅡㅡ (Thinking about it now still makes me mad, but I think this would have been freaking annoying even if I hadn’t had removal surgery.) There were a few times I strongly bumped my nose into something, but there weren’t really any problems.
Now there is a lot more information in this community about nose surgery removal haha Back then, even the concept of removal was very unfamiliar.. I had it removed at the same hospital where I had the surgery, for 1.1 million won (price at the time). The hospital where I had surgery and the hospital where I had removal were the same hospital haha The doctor removed it while feeling very regretful, asking why I was removing it when it came out well.. At the time, I kept a straight face, but people really are fickle; after 7 years, I even think, should I have tried not removing it? ;;-_- haha
If I went back to the past, I would absolutely remove it again, though.. Anyway, to everyone thinking about removal now or preparing for it, I hope your surgery goes well. Even if you remove it, nothing major happens.. However, I do think it’s good to manage it extremely carefully for about 1 year after surgery. (I think I have no particular problems now because I took diligent care of it during that 1 year.) I hope my review was helpful.
