I had the nasal packing removed on the second day, and now it’s day three. Compared with other reviews, I barely had any nosebleeds or runny nose, and on the day of surgery it didn’t hurt at all, so I wondered, did I even have surgery? But around bedtime that night, it was so uncomfortable and throbbing, and it was hard to breathe through my mouth, so I struggled until morning (still slept six hours), then had the nasal packing removed and saw the light.
My hump wasn’t severe to begin with, I didn’t have a bulbous nose, and it’s not like I had no nasal bridge, so I thought about it a lot, but I chose and decided on a surgical direction that seemed natural and unlikely to cause side effects.
I had surgery where they slightly refined the hump, placed a little septal cartilage and ear cartilage, then supplemented it with donated dermis to prevent cartilage show-through.
I like the shape and height I can see outside the splint right now, but I should assume it will get lower from here, right..? Also, the splint is pretty thick, so if you could guess whether the nasal bridge height itself won’t look very different from before surgery once it’s removed, I’d appreciate it..!
