I had nose surgery once 4 years ago!! 5.5 mm silicone on the nasal bridge + septal support graft + ear cartilage + lowering the nostril rims I had so much put into my nose like this.. Later, after the surgery was over, when I saw what came out of my nose, it was almost strange that I had not developed inflammation.. The reason I decided on total removal was that my nose was crooked and contracting, so it was liftedㅠㅠ My nasal tip was really hard like a rock, so there was no looseness in the nasal skin at all.. I couldn't decide whether I should have revision surgery or removal, so I did a lot of online research and went to 9 clinics in person, but every clinic said something different, so I was confusedㅠㅠ To be honest, I no longer wanted to put silicone in and only wanted to leave cartilage at the nasal tip, but everyone scared me by saying that if I had total removal, it would definitely lift and collapse.. Then the director at the clinic where I had surgery recommended total removal, and even when I was researching online, I had wanted to do it at this clinic, so I decided because he seemed confident!!
The surgery was done with 5 minutes of sedation + local anesthesia, and everyone said it didn't hurt, so I wasn't worried, but it hurt for meㅠㅠ From the outside, I couldn't tell, but once they actually opened my nose, the condition inside my nose was very bad.. They said that when the inflammation is too severe, because it is local anesthesia, there is no choice but to feel painㅠㅠ There was pus inside the capsule, the silicone had turned yellow because of the pus, and because the inflammation was severe, a lot of my nasal bone had meltedㅠㅠ And they said the clinic where I had my first surgery had cut off my left nasal bone, so I didn't have a left nasal boneㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ Isn't that seriously absurd? Why would they cut a perfectly normal nasal bone.. So now that I have had total removal, the left side feels slightly sunken when I touch it.. Maybe because of the swelling, it doesn't show much on the outside yet, so I think I need to keep watching it a bit more..? After the surgery, the director came and talked to me while showing me photos from inside my nose, you know? The alar wings were all ragged and the inside of my nose was also darkish.. The director also mentioned the possibility of contracture and a saddle nose, so I was really in a mental breakdownㅠㅠㅠ So I had nasal packing for a week tooㅠㅠ It was truly the longest week in the world..
But even I, who had such severe inflammation, am recovering well!! When I had the operated nose, I didn't know my nose was heavy, but after removal, it felt so, so lightㅋㅋㅋ Because of the inflammation, there used to be a musty smell inside my nose, but now there is none of that smell at all!! However, maybe the contraction phase has started now, because the inside of my nose sometimes stings and itches, and my nasal tip has lifted slightly, but I feel much more at ease than when I had the operated nose hehe Even if my nose lifts because it is the contraction phase, it definitely seems less lifted than when it was contracture!! I’m going to watch it slowly until 6 months hehe
I hope my post can give even a little strength to everyone who is still worrying about nose implant removal and searching all night hehe I also had a time when I was debating whether I should get revision surgery or removal, but now I think I’m so glad I removed it. I’m actually more satisfied than when I had my first nose surgery, and I’m so happy that I’m no longer stressed because of my noseㅠㅠ Of course, it has only been one month, and I still need to watch the progress to see how long the contraction phase lasts, but compared with all the emotional distress before, I can gladly put up with this much!! I hope everyone also does lots of online and in-person research, thinks carefully over and over again, and gets removal done well!!
