Beforebeforebeforeafterafterafter I had alar base reduction with Director Ham Gi-won at Gonggan Plastic Surgery. I was just going to get a light consultation and come back, but I ended up deciding on surgery. The reason was that I had usually been satisfied with my nasal bridge, but it was slightly hooked, and if I was going to do it, I wanted to do both the nasal bridge + alar base.
But after a long consultation with both the director and the consultant, I decided to do only the alar base. They said surgery itself was possible but my satisfaction would be low, and that every visitor has a habit they do while looking in the mirror, and apparently I only touched my alar base. That was so fascinating. Without pushing anything more, they spoke while thinking of me first, which made me trust them more. I did the alar base reduction by incision. My nose is thick, so there was no other option lol And the most important thing: I was a bit nervous because I was afraid it would hurt, but maybe I have the type of body that handles surgery well, it didn't hurt at all. During the consultation they said it would only be a throbbing level, but I barely even had that. I slept so well.. hehe
The photos are from day 1 after surgery, and there is some swelling, but the big visible change is that as the alar base got smaller, the nasal tip came alive. During the consultation, the director also said that even alar base reduction alone would have a big effect, so I'm really looking forward to it. I'll know once the swelling goes down more, but since I can see the front and side profiles have changed, I keep taking photos.. lol
