Before <these are pre-op photos>After <recent post-op>Now that it has been one month, I can clearly see my facial contour line settling into place. Recently, when I went in for my one-month follow-up, I reviewed the CT with the director. After confirming that the bones had attached well in the proper position and that the fixation was also good, I have nothing major to worry about at all! There is still a slight yellow bruise left, and I can still feel swelling around the jaw, but compared with my first surgery, the result came out really well, so I feel relieved. As for eating, I’m only avoiding hard foods now, and I’m eating everything else. For chicken, just in case, I’m eating boneless rather than bone-in!
After my first surgery, I went through a really hard time emotionally at this stage, but now I’m living without any worries at all!
It’s all thanks to Director Yoo, who did the surgery so well! It does feel a bit bitter that I only feel reassured after going as far as revision surgery, but on the other hand, I’m relieved that I can finally get the facial contour I wanted.
For those looking into their first surgery, please make sure the hospital is one where you can go every week, meet the director directly, and review your progress together... And if, when you ask something, they snap at you as if you’re asking something frustrating, or make you feel awkward for asking questions, as if they’ll take care of everything and you don’t need to know, you absolutely should not go to a hospital like that.. After surgery, there are many more things to ask about and so many things that really need to be checked with facial contouring surgery... I also plan to keep going for follow-ups and try to take better care of myself!
