My criteria for choosing hospitals to visit for eye revision surgery 1. Places many people go to for eye revision surgery (when I searched reviews, I left out places where first-surgery reviews were overwhelmingly dominant) 2. Places with a generous AS period (I left out 1-year ones) 3. Recommended by other people here.. (I felt a limit while researching, so I went to one place based on a recommendation)
I went to iFit, Noh Sang Hoon, and Olo, but realistically I’m deciding between the latter two, so I’m posting this.
Noh Sang Hoon 1. First, since there are a lot of people, the wait is long (I went prepared to wait until the end because mine is a revision, but if anyone is planning to go, make sure to leave plenty of time!) 2. The consultant is on the kind side. I felt she didn’t excessively push other surgeries or make me feel pressured. On the other hand, the director looked a bit tired.. and was rather cynical, but it was actually okay because he clearly said what was possible and what wasn’t. 3. Holding a mirror, we checked the double eyelid line by shaping the line on each eye, and he said to redo the epicanthoplasty while matching the double eyelid line symmetry on both sides with partial incision. He also asked if I was considering ptosis correction, and when I said I would do it if necessary, he included that in the diagnosis. 4. The consultation ended faster than the waiting time. The consultant went over the cost, aftercare, and even the surgery date. 5. AS period is 3 years, and there was no consultation fee.
Olo 1. I booked this place first because there were many revision surgery reviews! When I went in, there were a lot of people in the waiting area, but the consultation started in under 10 minutes. 2. The consultant here was also really kind. At first, she listened to how I wanted my current eyes to change and wrote it down in great detail on some kind of chart? memo sheet? Then I had the consultation with the director right away. 3. What felt a bit different here was that before shaping the line, the director explained my eye structure first. He talked about whether my eyes are protruding or sunken, and why the line was placed ambiguously when I first had double eyelid surgery. It felt like I was studying eye surgery itself. 4. After visiting the previous clinic, I thought an in-out line would be best, so I said I wanted an in-out line, but he still shaped many different double eyelid lines for me. The diagnosis was to do an in-out line with a slight epicanthoplasty and incision. 5. Maybe because I heard a lot of explanations, I think the consultation lasted over 20 minutes. I suddenly thought, what if I had known this much about eye surgery before getting my first surgery.. I felt a bit regretful.. lol 5. AS period is 3 years, and there is no consultation fee.
I went to these two places and iFit, and because I heard various diagnoses, I’m still deciding. If I get more recommendations from everyone and decide on more places to visit, I’ll go to a few more again; otherwise, I’m thinking of choosing between these two!
