Since last October, I really researched a lot, carefully chose a hospital, and had surgery with the mindset that I would never do it again! I got a lot of information from this community, shared information with good people, and received so much help, so I'm posting this!
It's still only day 3, so I don't know how it will change, but I trust my doctor... I believe the results will keep getting better.. I'm satisfied so far..
I had nose surgery 1 year ago with ear cartilage and 4 mm silicone. My skin is thin, and the alar cartilage was protruding at the columella, so it bothered me and made me sensitiveㅜㅜ The silicone also showed through a little, and the nasal bridge became slightly red... It didn't hurt, but I heard inflammation can sometimes happen without pain, so I decided on removal... I also felt the shape was a bit high, and I didn't like that it made my nose look long.
I had consultations at three places, and two of them said different things, while one felt more balanced? First, 1 said there was no ear cartilage strut in the columella, and the protruding alar cartilage needed to be cut and corrected. But if everything was removed, they couldn't give a definite answer about the shape change. 2 said there was an ear cartilage strut in the columella and they could do it as close to what I wanted as possible. They said the alar cartilage should not be cut and corrected, but tied instead. However, it could protrude again after surgery, and that would have to be dealt with then. They couldn't guarantee the shape. 3 said it is impossible to tell from the outside whether there is ear cartilage in the columella or not, and they would only know after opening it. For the alar cartilage, they would try to correct it without cutting as much as possible, and if that didn't work, cut only the minimum amount needed to correct it.
And I got the chart from the hospital where I had the surgery, and it turned out they had put an ear cartilage strut in the columella. So 1 was out... I had to choose between 2 and 3. 2 was very confident, but I might have to go back on the operating table later.. 3 was very calm and I liked that they listened to everything the patient said. It was just a consultation that made me feel comfortable? 2 consulted as if it was no big deal, but their attitude afterward seemed like they weren't trying to take responsibility, so I didn't really like that. I preferred 3, who explained all possible cases and tried to reassure me.
3 was the most expensive, but it was the place I trusted right away, so after thinking for a few days, I booked immediately. 1 and 2 had a lot of ads and events, while 3 had no ads and felt like a hidden gemㅋㅋ
When I first started looking, 3 had no information at all, so it didn't catch my eye, but I think it's important to keep searching and listening around. I'm not saying you should never go to places with lots of ads, but really, doing consultations in person is essential!!! Hospital 1 was originally my first choice, but it was the first one eliminated...
