Originally, the muscles in my eyelids were weak, so I tended to open my eyes using my eyebrows. After getting forehead Botox, maybe because my eyes wouldn’t open properly, it blocked my field of vision, so I wanted to get ptosis correction. Since I was going to do it anyway, I wanted to do it at a clinic known for eyes, so I looked around. Friends around me who are influencers or do live commerce broadcasts said they had double eyelid surgery at Girin and were very satisfied, so they recommended it. That made me decide to do it at Girin, and I went in for a consultation.
At first, I was just planning to get ptosis correction, but Girin is also so well known for lateral canthoplasty that I was curious about it and asked the consultation manager. They explained it so thoroughly and clearly that I decided to do the lateral canthoplasty too.
The doctor doing the lateral canthoplasty and the doctor doing the ptosis correction were different people, so I had two separate consultations.
Both doctors were very meticulous during the consultations, and even on the day of surgery, they went over the details one more time before surgery, so I went into surgery feeling at ease.
The doctors had a lot of surgeries scheduled, so I had to wait two months to match my schedule with theirs. I decided to wait slowly with excitement, so I had the consultation in June, but scheduled the surgery for my vacation dates in August.
I think the surgery took a little longer than expected. Before going in, they said they expected everything together to take about 3 and a half hours, but I went into surgery at 12 and when I came out after it was over, it was around 5. During the ptosis correction surgery, maybe the anesthesia wore off a little in the middle, so I said it hurt and they added a bit more anesthesia. The lateral canthoplasty hurt a little in a stiff, aching way. But it was all pain I could tolerate.
Today is day 2 after surgery, so I’m extremely swollen, but my eyes already feel much bigger ><
My eyes had a lot of coverage at the inner front area, so while doing ptosis correction, I also had an upper epicanthoplasty. I said I wanted my eye shape to look a bit round and more open. Right now I’m too swollen, so I can’t really tell yet, but I’m looking forward to the swelling going down quickly and my eyes looking more open. Once the swelling goes down, I’ll post a proper review again.
