I don’t know if it’s because I’m a man, and it’s just an excuse, but..ㅠㅠ Anyway, when I had my first surgery at another hospital about 4 months ago, I just went around for consultations without much thought and got the surgery considering the dramatic shape and the price. They only told me to wait even though I had developed contracture, so I was waiting, but I felt anxious, and then they suddenly said I had to pay an after-service fee too, which caught me off guard, so I went to other hospitals for revision surgery consultations.
I don’t think simply going to a lot of consultations is the only answer, so this time I looked carefully and only had consultations at 5 places.
OM - This was a place I had considered when getting my first surgery. I really liked it, but couldn’t choose it because of the cost issue. Unlike before, the clinic now has two directors. I was told that removing the implant and just changing the size would be enough, and they looked closely at the shape. The consultation was on the kind side, and since the director has been well known for noses since the item days, of course I trust them a lot, but for me, as a revision case, the line feels on the dramatic side..ㅠㅠ I want my revision to look natural.... Still, even though I don’t know much about hospitals, it does seem true that the director is famous.
Coviju - This place didn’t have events and had few reviews on the app from the neighboring community, but it had quite a lot of general posts. Unlike other places, there was no forcing reviews in exchange for an event or anything like that. Maybe by word of mouth, there were many patients and you also have to wait a long time for a surgery reservation. The director gave such a gentle impression and only does noses. During the consultation, they first checked whether I had photos of the nose I wanted, then made a 3D nose shape for me, recommended surgery with costal cartilage, and told me up to what extent the shape would be possible. They recommended using costal cartilage, but since they do not use donated rib cartilage, I had the consultation based on autologous costal cartilage. They emphasized function a lot, and despite that, the shapes are on the natural side, but moderately dramatic is also possible, which I liked. They explained without using difficult terms, so I understood 100%. I liked the whole consultation, and because it isn’t an advertising-heavy hospital, I trust it a lot.
-Olive Like the first two hospitals, it is a nose-specialized clinic, and they pursue a natural look. Like Coviju, they emphasized function + shape. I had the consultation for surgery without an implant.
-Mind I got a consultation because the event reviews on the neighboring community were good, but the director is young and emphasizes the shape, and the style is dramatic, so for me as a revision case, something too dramatic feels burdensome and a little worrying.
-Nose Lab The director here was also young, but their surgical mindset was extremely strong. And their surgical method was firm, so it felt professional, but it was difficult to understand 100% of the consultation content.
I don’t plan to go to as many consultations as I did for my first surgery, and I think this is enough, so now I’m choosing. I’m trying to decide between OM and Coviju. I can only have surgery after 1-2 more months, but both places have many surgery bookings, so they said I need to reserve in advance. I think I’ll make a decision soon and book the surgery.
