I booked nose surgery consultations in this order: Banana -> Mind -> Log, and went to them. I wrote all kinds of things messily in my phone notes, so I’ll briefly talk only about what I definitely remember
First, my only concern was a ‘bulbous nose’. I can’t even tell whether my nasal bridge is low or high, but my nasal tip is round and blunt.. I really hated that kind of look. Since I really wanted to get nose surgery for a slim, refined nose, I mainly visited places said to be good.
Getting to the point
1. Banana -The interior was clean overall, with a yellow background. The clinic itself wasn’t especially huge. (Maybe more so because there are two directors there.) -Consulted with manager ㄱㅎㅇ and director ㅊㅇㅊ. -During the manager’s preliminary consultation? they brought up forehead fat grafting, but I basically let that go in one ear and out the other. Because it wasn’t a surgery I wanted..? But after that, they accurately assessed my needs, like what shape I wanted and whether I had reference photos, and they took very thorough notes. There wasn’t much waiting, and I went straight into the doctor’s consultation. They had a calm, gentle style, but said everything that needed to be said. They honestly explained what kind of result I could expect, and said that if I wanted the style of nose I wanted, costal cartilage would be needed. But when I said I didn’t want costal cartilage used, they adjusted it and said that if we maintained about this height and length, it would suit my face and the material could be used in a reasonable way. They explained that bulbous nose correction means removing unnecessary tissue and making the nasal tip pretty. They said that because my columella is drooping, the nasal tip looks even more droopy, so columellar trimming would be done. After touching my nose, they said my septal cartilage should be sufficient. And they said my nasal tip is deviated, and it really was? +They also said I have a hump.. It’s very slight, so they said it could be corrected just by shaving it down. -During the final price consultation with the manager. I was told there was a discount on the condition of partial disclosure + a same-day booking discount. And what made me feel that they’re serious about aftercare / AS was that they emphasized they would handle it ‘properly’.. so I suddenly trusted them more It made me think, wow, this is how well a person needs to speak.. + They said they do about 2-3 surgeries a day.

2. Mind -A high-rise building. As soon as I entered the manager’s consultation room, the high-rise view was amazing and so pretty. -I first talked with the manager while looking at my CT scan, then waiting hell..... The wait here was seriously way too long I think I asked twice when I would be going in.. There were that many people, and many foreigners too. -Director ㅇㄱㅇ came in in a hurry and checked on me, asking if I had waited long, and my heart melted then^^.. (I had been a little annoyed.) Looking at the CT, we talked about the septal cartilage, and they said it could be sufficiently used. I remember they said it was about 31 mm? If the septal cartilage is insufficient, donated costal cartilage might be used, which was the same as the previous clinic. -When I said I wanted a natural look, they recommended 2-2.5 mm silicone. I was a bit surprised because it seemed like a clearly lower silicone than in the reviews, but I thought, oh, they really reflect my needs well? -They said my cartilage length is clearly visible and a bit large, so among bulbous nose corrections, mine would be on the easier side to resolve. I had heard this from the Banana director too, so it was really interesting that the same opinion came up. I thought experts must see things pretty similarly. -Final price consultation I.. really gasped when I saw the price here.... Is this right.. Am I really seeing this right.. I’m sorry to say this, but I’m not in a situation where I can pay that much for nose surgery, so it was disappointing.. The consultation was all good, but the budget didn’t match mine.

3. Log -I had to write a lot of details on the chart. I think I even had to provide information in case I ended up having surgery? -There wasn’t much waiting, but between steps I did have to wait about 15-20 minutes each time.. Still, it didn’t feel boring because I could wait in a separate private space. -What moved me a bit here was that the manager was really.. very calm, explained things slowly, took notes, and stayed right next to me while talking. It was really nice. This was the first place where the manager, not the doctor, explained things in this much detail. -Even during the price consultation, I could talk without feeling pressured. When I said same-day booking would be difficult, they let me go very coolly. -Ah, director ㅇㅅㄱ was a pretty cheerful person. Looking at the CT scan, they explained the amount of septal cartilage and how to look at the images, and checked my beauty angle?? They explained the ideal design, saying since I’m at about this angle, it should be raised this much, and since the height is this much, it should be raised this much, etc. After that, they also included what I wanted and explained how the design would be done, so that was okay. -Functional nose surgery came up, and I was surprised when they mentioned the inferior turbinate. When I got the CT at Mind, there was no talk of functional nose surgery.. This was the first time I even heard an explanation about indemnity insurance. (They said you need to tell the clinic by one week before so they can prepare documents related to indemnity insurance, for reference.) -What’s interesting here is that they recommended a double support strut? something they patented. It uses septal cartilage and autologous costal cartilage? to build each pillar, but since it’s my first surgery, I want to think a bit more about autologous costal cartilage.. so for now I just nodded and left.
*They didn’t mention things like a same-day booking discount. There’s no KakaoTalk alert, so you have to take good notes yourself.
There’s a place I like, so I’m thinking of asking about the deposit.
That place gives a 100% refund as long as you contact them to cancel at least a week before, so it doesn’t seem burdensome. What should I do?
