Before before before after after afterI had been very bothered since middle school by malocclusion, where my upper and lower teeth did not fit together, and by my protruding lower jaw, so I went for a dental consultation because I wanted orthodontic treatment, but I was diagnosed as a case that needed surgery
Even now, double jaw surgery is not an easy surgery, but back then my parents also had a very negative perception of double jaw surgery, so I found a dental clinic that said they could do orthodontics, had orthodontic treatment, and finished it. But as time passed and my interest in my appearance grew, I ended up looking into double jaw surgery~! My mouth also looked slightly protruded, and it felt like my jaw had grown more..?
So on October 16 last year, at Y Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, I had double jaw surgery and the three types of facial contouring, including cheekbones, square jaw, and chin, all done together!
It has already been 6 months since the surgery, and because I worked out diligently and managed the swelling, it felt like the swelling went down relatively quickly!?
I reduced the length of the philtrum and chin tip, so sensation has all returned, but when I purse my lips, the philtrum area does feel tighter than before surgery. I think this part will be fine if I just keep doing lip stretches, so I’m not too worried about it!
At 6 months, I visited the hospital, had a CT scan, and checked the progress. They said the bones had all fused, so I tried eating something hard like a bagel snack, and it was okay! Now I’m really eating comfortably like before surgery, without having to be careful with food
There’s that saying that fashion is completed by the face, right..? Since my face shape changed, dressing up feels more fun, and when taking photos, before I only took back-view photos or slightly covered my face with my hand, but now I confidently take front-facing photos!! I don’t think people say time is medicine for no reason. I’m spending such happy days!
People around me keep asking where I had the surgery because they say it turned out so well, so I feel proud. It was a major surgery, but I met a highly skilled director, and I’m so grateful that I can live well without the side effects that get posted online!
