Nose Surgery Reviews

My review after a failed philtrum reduction and autologous costal cartilage rhinoplasty / from immediately after to 10...

Before <my original nose, with nothing done to it> Before <after philtrum reduction, the columellar base under my nose disappeared, my nostrils became upturned + my nasal tip drooped> Before <days 1-5 after nose surgery> Before <it was noticeable in real life, but in photos this was when it looked the prettiest, around months 2-3> Before <my current line after 10 months> Before <when my nasal tip drooped after thread insertion / after surgery> Before <the wannabe nose photo I brought with me> I’m going to talk about the very long history of my nose. I used to live with a relatively pretty nose, but one day I thought I wanted to shorten my philtrum and make my upper lip fuller, so I ended up getting philtrum reduction.

Of course, there are probably good clinics and good doctors who do it well, but my result was very bad. Contrary to what I was told, that there would be no scarring or nostril deformity, the scar was severe, and the lower tissue of my nostrils was pulled, so my nostrils all flipped upward like elderly people’s nostrils, and because of that, the columellar base tissue disappeared.

That’s when I realized my nostrils were positioned too high. First of all, as things were pulled downward, my nasal tip also became lower, and overall it collapsed, making me feel like I looked like Voldemort. So I hurriedly went around looking for clinics and roughly filled things in with relatively simple threads and filler, but I was still dissatisfied, so I started looking into rhinoplasty.

Whatever you do, there are side effects like this, so unless it’s a surgery you really need, let’s be careful before going into surgery..

Other clinics said it could be done with ear cartilage, but at Whi, they said if it were a nose with nothing done to it, cartilage might have been possible, but since the threads inside also had to be scraped out and a firm support had to be built, autologous costal cartilage had to be used no matter what. So I hesitated quite a bit before surgery, but what could I do?

I wanted my pretty nose back..

I decided on the surgery and went in for it. I had the autologous costal cartilage nasal tip surgery under about two rounds of sedation anesthesia and local anesthesia.

To be exact, they scraped out the filler and threads, repositioned the nasal tip cartilage, reinforced the septum and placed 2 mm at the glabella, refined the hump, and placed autologous costal cartilage on the septal side like a septal support strut. At Whi, unlike the usual septal support strut, they seemed to have a method of supporting it according to the original nose shape.

And as for the result, I think I cried quite a lot for about 4 months. Suddenly, around months 2 or 3, my nose swelled as if it were flipping upward. That’s a natural appearance in cases with a lot of swelling, and since I went in as a revision case because they had to scrape out the threads, the swelling was several times worse

But now that it’s been 10 months, seeing that my nasal tip looks very natural, I’m thinking, should I have raised it a little more? So please know that the swelling is re~~~~~~ally heavy and lasts a long time.. everyone haha

When I first met the doctor, I said that if I had surgery, I wanted to go back exactly to my old nose without making it look excessive, and it would be perfect if it didn’t look like I had surgery and people thought it was naturally mine. I got the surgery with that in mind, so the doctor achieved a result exactly suited to what I hoped for, and in conclusion, it’s higher and prettier than my old nose, so I’m very satisfied.
