Nose Re-Surgery@rhino-redo

Day 5 review after silicone removal + cartilage repositioning (shape review, questions…

I had my silicone removed on June 8 and got my splint taken off today! The clinic manager removed the splint, disinfected the area, cut a few stitches (the ones visible on the outside), and did new taping. The director came, looked at my face, said there were no issues, and left.

I’m very satisfied with the shape. My family also says it looks much better. The nasal tip is almost the same, and only the height got a little lower, but it’s similar. From the front, there is a slightly wider-looking feeling, but it’s much less than expected, and the clinic also said it would keep decreasing. Originally, I had no nasal bridge and had a nasal tip, but because I used high silicone on the bridge, it had a straight-nose feel. After removing it, it looks like a slight half-curved profile. And my nose looks smaller than my original nose, so I’m even more satisfied. There’s no lifted-looking or drooping nasal tip yet, so I hope only the swelling goes down like this haha

They said it’s normal to sometimes have throbbing in the nasal bridge or pain when touching the nasal tip, since it’s only been 5 days after all. For one month, I’m going to take good care of it while taping diligently, and I’ll write another review after a month. Please ask anything you’re curious about!

(+ Q&A summary) -Nostril asymmetry: I had some uneven nostrils until day 4. Since it was done closed, they put cotton in the right side and removed it, and only the right side looked really big. But it comes back. I was never perfectly symmetrical to begin with, but all the clinics said my nostrils had no issue.

-Nasal tip refinement: The original surgery plan was to leave and refine the ear cartilage that we thought was in the nasal tip, but when they actually opened it, there wasn’t any, and they said there was only an ear cartilage support strut. So they said they left only the ear cartilage support strut and did cartilage repositioning!
