Before/after Hello~ Time has flown by, and it has already been 6 months since my double-jaw surgery~ I had been diagnosed with malocclusion since elementary school, and my tongue used to rest against my lower front teeth. Since that felt comfortable, I thought it was just normal for me, but apparently it wasn’t.. I also had a bit of a protruding lower jaw since I was young, so it caused me so much stress throughout my school years. So among several hospitals, I had double-jaw surgery and 3 types of facial contouring (cheekbones, square jaw, chin) done together at Y Oral & Maxillofacial Clinic!
Honestly, I can barely remember how the surgery went, and even the hard parts feel blurry now :) From almost 2-3 months afterward, I’ve just been living like I did before surgery! I’m happy! Friends I haven’t seen in a while sometimes say things like, why did you lose so much weight, you got prettier~ I can eat almost anything now, and I’m doing all kinds of exercise, from high intensity to low intensity. They said the major swelling would all go down by 3 months, and many reviews said the same, but.. For me, it felt like swelling continued to go down even after 3 months, up to 5-6 months! For those who had surgery.. try waiting a bit! It might not be your real face yet~ When 3 months had passed, I wondered, is this my face? But once the minor swelling went down, I liked it even more :) Now it feels like almost all of it has gone down, but I’ll add more later! lol And I had lost a lot of weight too, and although I’ve gained about 2-3 kg now, my face is still much smaller!
Director Lee Seok-jae also told me the bones had healed well, and said I could receive laser treatments and such too. When comparing the before/after photos at the hospital, it seems the asymmetry has completely improved. My friends might not have noticed my face before, but more than anything, it was stressful when I looked at myself. And even in photos, I could feel the asymmetry. Honestly, even if I went back to before surgery, I think I would do it again. I wish I had done it earlier lol, when I had more elasticity. For those considering it now, I would recommend it.
Also, because of my implant, I’m going to another dental clinic too, and the dentist there looked and said the surgery was done really cleanly.. They asked who the doctor was by name~ I trusted this hospital because I knew they were good, but when even a specialist saw it and was impressed, I really felt I made the right choice having Director Lee Seok-jae do it :)
