Two-jaw rotation is not a type of two-jaw surgery, but one of the movement directions. In my case, I’m someone who would see a lot of effect from two-jaw surgery. If they just rotate it, the upper mouth would look more protruded, so they set it back and rotate it.

Director ㅎ is basically one of the pioneers of two-jaw surgery, but rather than feeling authoritative, he felt virtuous? generous (not in build, but in character), calm, and down-to-earth, like a neighbor uncle. What was different from other hospitals was that rather than focusing on the aesthetic effects I’d get after surgery, he explained the side effects well, divided broadly into about 6 categories?
1. Nerve line It is best when the nerve inside the bone passes toward the tongue side, but in most people, the nerve passes through the middle In my case, it is average to somewhat more favorable than average 2. Airway If the airway space is narrow, snoring can occur, but in my case, the airway is sufficiently wide both horizontally and vertically, so that is good 3. Relapse phenomenon There can be relapse after surgery, but in my case, the advantage of two-jaw rotation is that the relapse phenomenon is minimal (Because large muscles like the temporalis and masseter attach to the lower jaw, while the upper jaw does not have large muscles..?) They said my case is an SSRO case. SSRO is more difficult, and IVRO is easier and faster. The director said he prefers SSRO because it is aesthetically better and more comfortable for patients. IVRO requires intermaxillary fixation for 2 weeks, the face gets wider?, and you have to practice opening your mouth harder than with SSRO..? They said IVRO is advantageous if a surgeon wants to do several surgeries in a day. IVRO is mainly done only at Yonsei University, and over 90% of surgeries in Korea are done with the SSRO method, but the director said he selectively chooses depending on nerve issues. 4. Skin elasticity (sagging) The better the skin elasticity, the less sagging. Even up to around thirty, it shrinks back well, but the older you are, the more clearly sagging shows. If it sags even then, you need a facelift. They said my elasticity looks good to the naked eye now 5. Decreased sensation Decreased sensation almost all returns. The lip area comes back well, and only about 10% may have delayed return around the chin tip. 6. Upturned nose Even now, my face is not one where the nostrils are completely invisible, but if I get two-jaw surgery, the midface rises, so the nostrils may become more visible. Since they do not do nose surgery here, they said I may need to consider something like nasal cartilage grafting + augmentation surgery later. If I end up doing it, this was the hospital where I felt the most confidence in safety, to the point that I would want to get it done here. If I can feel just a little more certainty about the aesthetic side, among all the hospitals I’ve been to so far, it will probably become my strongest candidate!
