Before <Before surgery> After <After surgery> 3-week review of bulbous nose surgery
Today marks exactly 3 weeks since I had nasal tip surgery + alar reduction + bulbous nose correction, so I’ll write about what I’ve felt so far.
In week 1 (day 7), I had the splint and stitches removed. There was a little residual swelling and bruising around the glabella (it hurt when pressed), and the swelling in the nasal tip and alar areas hadn’t gone down much, so they looked big and round. Because of the bruising, my dark circles looked worse. I ate everything I wanted, but I avoided foods that were too salty, spicy, or irritating.
In week 2 (day 14), all the bruising was gone, and it didn’t hurt even when I pressed the glabella. The swelling in the alae and nasal tip had gone down a lot, so the nose that had looked round started showing boundaries between the alae and nasal lobule. The shape of my nostrils also changed in a way I liked more. I was told to avoid alcohol for about one or two months, but I couldn’t hold back and drank about one or two beers on day 10. Fortunately, nothing happened.. (You absolutely must not drink alcohol just based on my review!!) The nasal tip felt heavy and hard.
In week 3 (day 21), when I looked today, the skin that had looked thick because of swelling had now returned to normal, and externally, the incision sites had healed a lot. But scabs of blood keep coming out from inside my noseㅠㅠ I think it will take a bit longer to heal completely. The alae were reduced nicely to align with the inner corners of my eyes, and maybe because of the nasal tip, it feels like the inner corners of my eyes are being pulled very, very slightly? Even my eyes look more defined. I wanted a natural look, so people around me don’t really noticeㅋㅋㅋ But I’m very satisfied. Now I don’t have to put effort into my nose when editing photos or doing makeup, so I really like it.
