As the title says, I had a rare-looking nose, so I went around to consultations without being greedy, only wanting functional improvement and a somewhat better image.
I went to about 10 places for consultations, and I often came out feeling emotionally battered after hearing things like, even with surgery, the nostrils would not come out looking pretty so they could not do it; if I had surgery, only my nose would look bigger and it would be better to live as I am now; if they had not known it was my first surgery, they would have thought I was getting revision surgery because of contracture; and that they had never seen such a difficult nose before. The consultations were so painful that I even wondered if I should give up on surgery. Then, at the last place I went for a consultation, they also saw it as a difficult(?) nose, but they found ways to improve it as much as possible, explained the pros and cons of surgery, and let me choose the surgical method, so I barely managed to get the surgery.
From what I roughly remember, the surgery involved inserting silicone, lowering the columella, lowering the nostrils, and treating a droopy-tip nose, crooked nose, and rhinitis. (They do not use sleep anesthesia, so it was a place where I debated whether to have surgery because I was scared, but once the surgery started, I had absolutely no sensation in my nose. The only painful parts were that my nose felt a bit stingy and I had to lie still. Checking the design during the surgery was truly the best.)
When I watched rhinoplasty vlogs, everyone’s face was swollen, so I naturally thought I would swell too and took 2 weeks of vacation. But surprisingly, whether it was thanks to the swelling injections while I was getting my stitches removed after surgery, or thanks to the doctor’s skill, I had no swelling at all, so I unintentionally wasted my vacation.
My side profile looks completely refined, my front view has improved a lot from the pinched-nose look, and overall it has become slimmer, so I hear that my face looks smaller and often hear that my eyes look bigger too, which makes me happy. On top of that, I can breathe much better than before, so my headaches are gone too, and life is enjoyable :D
My self-esteem had hit rock bottom, but since the surgery went well and I regained my confidence, I hope everyone reading this has a smooth and satisfying surgery.
