Before before before after after after hello I’m writing my 3-month review after having 2-type facial contouring surgery (chin, square jaw), cortical bone osteotomy, masseter reduction, and chin bone grafting at Samsao!
Compared with the 1-month review photos, you can see that a lot of the swelling has gone down. Honestly, right after surgery, because of the chin lengthening, I regretted it because I thought my chin looked too long, but as the swelling went down, those worries completely disappeared. I really think facial contouring is a battle with time. At my 2-month follow-up, the director also told me not to worry, saying that with time, more swelling would go down than what had gone down over the first 2 months, and that was really true haha.
They say major swelling goes down in 3-4 months, and minor residual swelling can continue going down for up to 1 year! I’ll wait until the residual swelling goes down haha. Also, when I told the consultant that I wanted additional swelling care, they did it right away, so I was once again satisfied with the postoperative care in that regard! For the first month after surgery, I ate New Care and noodle-type foods by just swallowing them. After 1 month, they said I could chew, so I just ate regular meals! They said it takes about 3 months for the bone to heal together, so even when eating regular meals, I didn’t eat hard or tough foods! To reduce swelling, I walked a lot starting from week 1. Every single day, I walked around the park for an hour and a half. And from month 1, I heard that lightly using the treadmill and stationary bike helps reduce swelling, so I did that!
