My mom had incisional double-eyelid surgery, upper epicanthoplasty, and ptosis correction 4 months ago, and now a black stitch was found in her eyelid (incision line).
After the double-eyelid surgery, the eye where the stitch was found kept hurting, so during her regular ophthalmology checkup this time, they looked and said there was one stitch. So she went straight to the plastic surgery clinic, and after they tried several times to remove it, they said it was a thread tied in the eyelid that had come out as the skin became thinner. They said it's a stitch that doesn't originally need to be removed.. But are there normally threads inside the double-eyelid line that don't need to be untied? Also, she was planning to have revision surgery, so she has to get surgery next month, but I don't even know if it's okay to have it done there.. And the clinic says they normally fix the eyelid with thread. Is there any way to confirm that this fixation was done? One more thing I'm curious about: the plastic surgery clinic says the eye pain is not because of the stitch, but the ophthalmologist says it seems to be because of the stitch. Which is right.. (She says it stings and hurts)
