Before<before>before<after>before<before>before<after>I was mainly concerned about a dorsal hump, a crooked nose, and a wide alar area. The hump that had worried me the most is completely gone, the crooked nose was corrected naturally without osteotomy, and although I did not have separate alar reduction surgery, that area improved to some extent along with the other procedures, so I am very satisfied. My face has a flat feeling and my other features are not large at all, so I was most worried that making the nose too high or flashy would look unnatural. Fortunately, the result improved the parts I was most self-conscious about while shaping the nose without making it overly dramatic. I think I might not have gotten such a satisfying result if I had not done it at Oblly. It was a major surgery, so I was very worried, but from consultation to after surgery, there was nothing uncomfortable or unsatisfying at any point. 1. Consultation After various photos and a CT scan, I first had about a 15-minute consultation with the manager, then about 15 minutes with the doctor. I explained my concerns, and they asked detailed follow-up questions and listened so kindly. In particular, the doctor explained the surgical method carefully, which made me trust the process. I originally also wanted alar reduction surgery, but they advised against it because of concerns about unnaturalness and scarring. Since I absolutely wanted natural-looking results, I think it was really the right choice in the end. 2. Preparation and surgery There was a little over a month left until surgery. I was given detailed instructions for pre-op precautions, and whenever I asked questions through KakaoTalk, the manager in charge replied very quickly, which put me at ease mentally. Every time I visited the clinic, all the staff at Oblly treated me so kindly that I think my mental state was handled much better throughout the preparation process. I was worried it would hurt during surgery, but while it was happening I obviously did not feel any pain at all, and even immediately afterward I did not really feel any pain. 3. After surgery The evening of the surgery day is the most painful part, but once I took the painkillers it was very tolerable. After that, there was almost no pain that bothered me. What surprised me was that in other rhinoplasty reviews people say there is a lot of bleeding from the nose, but from immediately after surgery until a week later when the splint was removed, there was almost no bleeding. Bruising was only very slight on the bridge after the splint came off, and although I had quite a bit of swelling, the major swelling went down completely after about 2 weeks. I followed the precautions and care instructions well and recovered, and I’m glad the recovery process was not as troublesome or painful as I had imagined. I think rhinoplasty is something you have to think about for a long time and decide carefully, because you have to live with the nose for the rest of your life. It is definitely not a small surgery, and there are many things to pay attention to before, during, and after surgery.
