Before/after before/after before/after - Reason I ended up getting revision surgery At first, I wanted a natural-looking nose, but I didn’t know “natural” would mean looking similar to before surgery. -Consultation While going to consultations at five places, I chose the clinic because, first, they had an item saying they would do bulbous nose surgery together during the revision. They said that while lifting the nasal tip, they could also operate on the parts that did not match my facial symmetry by lowering the columella, adjusting the nasolabial angle, and aligning the highest point of the nasal tip to improve how crooked it looked.
At other clinics, they told me the nose looked crooked because my forehead and chin were not symmetrical, so there was nothing that could be done. But at ㅂㄴㄴ, they explained what kind of shape could come out after surgery, and they also said it would not change dramatically like in a drama; surgery is about bringing out as much as possible from what you already have, not changing everything completely. That was the biggest factor.
Rather than saying, “It can’t be helped,” or “Everything is possible,” they realistically explained my dissatisfaction with the shape I already had and still suggested ways to improve it, so I had no choice but to choose Director Choi.
They said they would refund the entire deposit as long as I contacted them at least a week before surgery, so I reserved the earliest possible surgery date and also looked around at other clinics, but I kept comparing them with the clinic where I ended up having surgery. I told the consultant there were no changes to the surgery, and it has now been a little over a month since the surgery.
-Surgery details Before surgery, I met the consultant, confirmed what time I had started fasting, whether I had not drunk water, and whether I had not chewed gum. I changed clothes in the dressing room, and before surgery I removed metal items like rings.
The director came in and explained again the surgical methods we had discussed before, held my nose shape higher to check it, told me how much silicone would be inserted, and drew markings on my face with something like a permanent marker.
I heard that anesthesia was starting, was told I just needed to count 10 seconds in my head, fell asleep, and woke up. I lay in the recovery room for over two hours and then took a taxi home.
-After surgery Before this surgery, my surgical nose barely looked like it had been done and looked blunt. Even when I took photos, there was not much difference from before, so I think I was even more disappointed. Since I had asked for a natural look, asking them to raise it again was not accepted as an after-service reason, and all they could offer was a slightly bigger discount than other clinics.
For this second revision surgery, I like that subjectively it does not look overly obvious but is also not too natural. I said vaguely that I wanted revision surgery because of my natural-looking nose, but that I also did not want anything too flashy. I think it helped that the director and I looked at various nose reviews and celebrity photos while repeatedly checking the line. The blunt nasal tip, which was the reason I first thought about getting surgery, was also lifted using rib cartilage. Even after surgery, the director told me in advance whether the swelling on both sides was going down well and that the bruising right after surgery could move down toward the cheeks over time, so I don’t think I had much to worry about after surgery.
For reference, I had surgery on Friday and had the cotton, which most people remove on day 3, removed on Monday, day 4. I hope everyone chooses their surgery date carefully when getting surgery.
