If I do it this time, it will be my third surgery...ㅜㅠ After the first surgery, my nose became upturned, so I had the second surgery with autologous costal cartilage, but only the nasal bridge was raised, and the columella still could not be lowered, so my nostrils show, and the deviated septum was not corrected. I originally have facial asymmetry too, so the centerline does not match, which makes my nose a bit difficult... I went for consultations at 3 hospitals that are fairly well known for revision surgery and are mentioned in this community too!
1. ㅈㅇㅌ The doctor was famous when he was at ㅇㅇㅌ, and it looked like many people came here already having this place in mind CT scan o While looking at the CT together, he explained well what the problems with my nose are and what can and cannot be improved He kept emphasizing that there are many limitations, and said that there would not be a lot of improvement The director explained things in detail and calmly, but maybe because my nose is difficult, I did not get a comfortable feeling like he was confident or had many cases like this so it would be okay He suggested using my existing autologous costal cartilage as is and adding donated costal cartilage (For reference, when I had my autologous costal cartilage harvested, it hurt so much, and I did not have any resistance to donated costal cartilage)
2. ㄹㅋㅋ Because my centerline is originally crooked, the surgery making it tilted to the left was done that way correctly, and if the septum is made perfectly straight, it would actually look crooked. We decided to reuse the autologous costal cartilage and additionally use ear cartilage He pursued complete naturalness and safety, and said my current nose height is not low either, so only the nasal bridge should be lowered, only the columella should be brought down, and the height should be maintained as is The fact that surgery dates were available anytime means there are not many people getting surgery there, and I want something a little more glamorous rather than natural, so I put it on hold for now. CT scan x, the director touched my nose, drew lines on the photos he took, and used Photoshop during the consultation
3. ㅇㅇ I waited 4 months to get a consultation here. When I went, it was quiet CT scan o The consultation was done while looking at the CT, and he accurately pointed out that my nose is short but looks long. He said septal reconstruction is needed and recommended doing it sturdily with autologous costal cartilage rather than donated costal cartilage He did not really listen to what I wanted to say and just poured out what he wanted to say before leaving, but it was all correct and necessary, so it did not bother me much. He said the surgical result would obviously be better than now, so not to worry During the consultation, he also kept in mind a pretty line and maintaining it for a long time, and he did not seem to find my surgery difficult or be reluctant about it I would have to wait another 3 months for surgery, and the cost was expensive, but I kept leaning toward it
Lastly, I’m planning to visit ㅇㄷ and then decide. Since what each person needs is different, I think it is more important to go directly to the hospital for a consultation and find out the cost there. Even if you know beforehand, it has no meaning. This time, please let it be the last...ㅜㅠ
