Please read this keeping in mind that this was my first time going around for consultations, and I’m a complete beginner so I don’t really know what I should be asking. My nasal tip is quite bulbous, my cartilage is weak so it spreads when I smile + low nasal bridge + slight hump + slight deviation
1. ㅇㄹ It’s a private clinic, and when I went after making a reservation, there was no one there except me. The staff were mostly kind. First, the consultant spoke very confidently and seemed to have pride in the clinic. Of course, she did seem persuasive, but I consulted with the consultant longer than with the director (consultant = 40-50 minutes, director 10-20 minutes). The director said he would support the nasal tip with ear cartilage, correct the nasal septum, lower the columella, shave the hump, and insert silicone, but the price went well over 5 million won. On top of that, they said the surgery time would be over 5 and a half hours, which was so much more than the surgery time and cost I had roughly looked up that I was flustered. The consultant explained things in a very detailed and kind way, and the director also seemed meticulous, but I thought I should decide after going to the next clinic, so I put it on hold.
2. ㅂ It’s a large hospital and there were really a lot of people. But the person next to me was Chinese, and the photos posted all around the hospital all had a similar feel. The nasal bridges just felt completely like plastic surgery clinic noses, so I went in feeling intimidated. I had booked for a cosmetic nose consultation, but it had been changed and registered as a functional nose consultation, so they said I had to take a CT and X-ray, which flustered me (this may be because I didn’t know if that was originally how it works). Anyway, after waiting a long time, I went in. The consultant was kind, but the consultation felt short, around 20 minutes? The director also consulted for about 15 minutes?? and left. Still, it felt like they gave the necessary explanations. They said ear cartilage for the nasal tip, shaving both sides of the nasal bridge to make the nose look slimmer, correcting the deviation, lowering the columella, hump + silicone + alar reduction. But here they said the surgery time would be 2-3 hours, and the price was about similar to the average cost of nose surgery. (But when I asked whether they could explain in detail or show similar photos or check what would change, they said they couldn’t show that and didn’t really have photos, so that was disappointing.) It seems like people usually go for a very dramatic line here.
3. ㅇㅈ This was also a private clinic, and there were about two clients. It felt very well organized. I waited about 10 minutes and went right in. The consultation content was almost similar to the previous two clinics. The difference was that they firmly said I didn’t need alar reduction. Also, they didn’t take a CT, but they took photos and explained each point in great detail, and I could feel that they were trying to help me understand all the principles and process. I got the impression that they were very safety-oriented, and rather than pursuing a big change in impression, they seemed to prefer a natural line. The price range was higher than average, but not to the point where it would be too much. The consultant explained things in great detail and showed photos and lines while explaining scar care, how to come in for visits, etc. They said postoperative care is provided for up to 3 years, and explained that if inflammation occurs within 6 months, they would even do surgery by opening it up.
For now, I’ve been to 3 places, and my heart is leaning toward the third one... The second one was too tiring and made me think, is this what a large hospital is like? And the first one’s cost and time were too much... If anyone has succeeded with a blunt nose close to a bulbous nose, or has been to these three hospitals, I’d appreciate your reviews... But consultations are so hard
