Day 5 nose surgery review!!

First, at the 4th place I went to for a consultation, I put down a tentative reservation deposit. It was 100,000 won, and they said it was 100% refundable, so I paid it. Including this place, I went to 5 places for consultations, and I liked both the materials and the price, so I did it here. Honestly, at the 5th place, I had already paid a reservation deposit and moved on right away, so I was really exhausted and couldn’t really take in what they were saying.. That place also adjusted the price a lot for me, so it was only about 300,000 won different from the place where I had surgery. The place where I had surgery had to dissolve filler, and since I had threads inserted too, those had to be removed. I think it was roughly silicone for the nasal bridge, autologous costal cartilage for the nasal tip, and trimming the hump. They said if I did it together with my friend and matched the hospital’s schedule, they would do both of us for 3.8 million won each. And the director said it would be good to do alar reduction too, but I had heard so many negative things like once you do alar reduction, you can’t reverse it, so I said I’d think about it. Then the consultant said, in that case, let’s first do the surgery, and if I don’t like it or it seems like alar reduction is needed, we can do it then, and they’d make it 600,000 won including anesthesia fees and everything. Of course, they said if I did it together with the nose surgery, it would only be an additional 400,000 won. But I’m a student, you know. I didn’t have money. If I combined the money I had with my next paycheck, I could just barely gather exactly 4.2 million won. But if I did alar reduction too, it would come out to 4.2 million won.. If I spent all that money on surgery, I’d have no living expenses for a month. So I thought I’d first do the surgery, and if alar reduction turned out to be necessary, I’d do it during summer break. And then the day of surgery came. I scheduled it on the same day as my friend, but I was in the morning and my friend was in the afternoon. As soon as I arrived at the hospital, they said they’d help me pay the remaining surgery fee first. Naturally, I had prepared exactly 3.4 million won, subtracting the 400,000 won reservation deposit I had paid before from 3.8 million won. (I paid the reservation deposit when I went to dissolve the filler.) So I paid by debit card, but they said the 400,000 won would be paid separately. I didn’t really understand what they meant, so I asked, and they said since they wouldn’t know whether they’d do the alar reduction until going into surgery, they would process it separately and cancel it if they didn’t do it. So I said that was different from what we discussed during the consultation, that we had decided not to do alar reduction, and even if it became necessary after surgery, I was supposed to go in separately for it. Then they said, “Is that so? Okay,” so I thought maybe they wrote it down wrong or there had been a communication error among the staff.. Then I had the pre-surgery consultation with the director, and it lasted maybe 1–2 minutes..? I had brought the final nose shape I wanted, but he just glanced at it and said okay, and he didn’t do the design on my nose there either..? I just thought maybe that’s how it is. He just stretched the nasal tip a bit and didn’t really explain what surgery he was doing. He briefly said he’d trim the hump, raise the nasal tip, put silicone in the nasal bridge, and decide whether to do alar reduction after going in, so even there I was like, huh? I hadn’t paid for it, but I thought the coordinator would tell the director, right? and just went in for surgery. Thinking about it now, I guess I should have said it myself when consulting with the director. After the surgery ended, the coordinator called me over and said they had done alar reduction, so I had to pay 400,000 won. I was really dumbfounded. What would have happened if I had spent that 400,000 won somewhere else?? Would I have had to borrow it from someone around me? I had those thoughts and felt really... yeah. Still, the surgery was already over, so I did pay the 400,000 won, but that day I didn’t even have money for the taxi fare or prescription medicine, so I urgently asked my mom to give me my allowance early and barely got home. Now it’s day 5, and the area where the costal cartilage was harvested doesn’t hurt as much as I expected. From day 1 to day 3, it just felt like muscle soreness, and now it feels painful if I press it? Since I needed alar reduction anyway, I’m not dissatisfied that it was done, and doing it at the same time as nose surgery also reduces the hassle, so it’s not bad. And although I haven’t had the splint removed yet, I like the nose when I lift my head and look from below, so I like the overall surgery too. The director is really good at surgery and has a lot of experience, so I trusted him and did it here, and I’m satisfied with the result, but because of the alar reduction, I feel like my desire to recommend this place to people around me has disappeared? At work and among my friends, there are a lot of people interested in nose surgery these days, and about 5 people have said they’ll follow me to this plastic surgery clinic after seeing my nose. These five people are people who say they’ll get nose surgery within this summer. And there are more than 10 people who do want nose surgery but are like this and that.. Before surgery, I really liked the consultant too, and the director handles costal cartilage well and specializes in nose surgery, so I liked it a lot and was looking forward to it, but because of this incident, I’m debating whether I should recommend it to my friends or not. I hope that hospital sees this post too, but I’m worried it might become a problem if I post the hospital name together, so I’m posting the name privately. If you’re curious, leave a private comment.
