I was always so stressed about my bumpy, wide face shape and rounded lower face. And I had a forehead that made me frown a lot between the brows. I wondered whether to do only facial contouring, but during the consultation I heard the opinion that it would be good to do the forehead together too, so after thinking about it, I ended up doing 3-part facial contouring and forehead surgery together. Unfortunately, there weren’t many hospitals that could do everything at once, so I chose BT. Especially when I looked into facial contouring, I saw it a lot, and the reviews on the app were pretty, so I thought I definitely had to go for a facial contouring consultation. After consulting, Director Hwang himself had strong pride in facial contouring surgery and cortical osteotomy, so I made up my mind and did it.
You can tell from the photos, but I have an inward-curved square jaw. It didn’t particularly stand out from the front, but my cheekbones were lateral cheekbones, so they were very noticeable. What I liked most here was that, unlike other hospitals, they said it was a definite triple close fixation surgical method, and that was the part I liked most.
After surgery, I had to be hospitalized for one day, and it was really hard from the moment I woke up from anesthesia,, Until about day 3, it really hurt a lot and the pain made it difficult, so I regretted the surgery a lot, thinking I shouldn’t have done it. But exactly after 3 days, I got so much better, and from weeks 2 and 3, I was going around outside completely fine and living daily life. After passing the 1-month mark, I could open my mouth wide enough to fit three fingers, so I just ate everything I wanted. I avoided hard foods as much as possible out of conscience,,^^ As for swelling, maybe because I also did square jaw and deep cheek fat removal, the double chin and cheek swelling were the worst. Still, maybe because bone was cut, people who saw me said my face had gotten smaller, so I felt the contouring effect was gradually showing. As the swelling around the cheekbones moved down to the cheeks, the jaw swelling also gradually gathered toward the chin tip, making it look like a double chin, but after passing 2 months, that went down a lot too!! Since people around me definitely often said after surgery that my face got smaller, my eyes looked clearer and bigger, and my face shape looked cleaner, I was already satisfied with having surgery, but it made me even more satisfied haha. At the 1-month mark, I took a CT and saw the director. Before surgery, my face shape looked round from the front and had some lower-face width, but after V-line surgery and cortical osteotomy, it was so fascinating that my skull bone itself had become slimmer. On both sides of my jaw, they said they removed pieces about the size of one finger each as cortical osteotomy lol. I was surprised that only the bone was cleanly removed. I’m about to go for the 3-month follow-up soon, and then I’m definitely going to take photos!! More than anything, I think I liked it even more because the aftercare was really meticulous. Skin care, swelling care, forehead scar laser, and the director’s follow-ups were all done really carefully, without just glancing and moving on, and I could feel how much the hospital was taking care of me. And since getting care seemed to make the swelling go down faster and recovery faster too, I hope no one skips it!
+Today is exactly the 3-month mark, and frowning with my forehead has definitely improved. The scar is still visible to the naked eye, but I can feel it getting lighter. The contouring swelling still feels like it remains in the cheeks and jaw area, and overall the puffy residual swelling seems almost gone. Now there’s no discomfort at all when eating, and opening my mouth wide is okay too, so I’m planning to go back to the orthodontic treatment I had put off!! What I feel these days is,, my family and close friends all praise me every time they see me, saying my face got smaller, and they notice it, so I feel proud? People I’m not that close with only think I lost weight and absolutely, absolutely can’t tell I had facial contouring. The tingling pain around my jaw has now completely disappeared, and I can feel sensation returning to my lower jaw, so I’m extremely satisfied. And now I think I need to slowly start dieting too. I want a slightly slimmer face shape.. I’m going to do it while also reducing the swelling!!! Then leave a comment if you’re curious about anything! Everyone, have a good Lunar New Year, and I’ll come back when more swelling goes down!
