I developed a hump after a nasal fracture from a traffic accident! I had the hump removed without an implant and had my nasal tip raised with ear cartilage (no silicone inserted)
For an accurate before-and-after comparison, I wore no makeup in both photos + took them from the same angle (1 month post-op)
-(Long post warning)- Surgical area: functional rhinoplasty (hump removal + nasal tip (ear cartilage) + deviated septum) I am 1 month post-op from functional rhinoplasty with Director K** at O** Plastic Surgery. While preparing for rhinoplasty, I was able to get a lot of information by looking through a community. Among them, O** had many consultation reviews but comparatively fewer surgery reviews, so I remember being a little worried(?) before deciding on the surgery. I’m writing this review to help people like me who are looking for information! My nasal bone was fractured in a traffic accident, and because of that, my hump became severe. During that process, the septal area was also fractured, which made my rhinitis worse (I didn’t know there had been a fracture in the septal area, but I found out during the O** consultation when they analyzed the CT and explained it to me). Starting in May 2020, I looked up information about rhinoplasty and went for consultations. I had consultations at a total of 8 hospitals: L**, K*, M*, K**, O****, O*, O**, J**, and K**, and in June 2022 I finally decided to have rhinoplasty at O** Plastic Surgery. While looking up information about rhinoplasty, most people said that the nose does not end with just one surgery, and because I had such a hard time when I had nasal surgery at a university hospital due to the traffic accident, I made up my mind to finish rhinoplasty in one surgery and looked for a hospital as carefully as possible. I wanted a natural-looking nose shape, so I mainly had consultations at hospitals that focused on natural nose shapes. I wanted to have surgery at a hospital that could do non-implant surgery, provide thorough aftercare to the end, and had CCTV. During consultations, I first selected hospitals that met these conditions, then had separate consultations only at the hospitals I was considering, and ultimately decided on O** Plastic Surgery. Because I worry a lot, after deciding on surgery I had a total of 3 consultations with the director. He never seemed annoyed, gave very good consultations, and explained the parts I was worried about in detail so I wouldn’t have to worry, which I liked. On the day of surgery as well, he explained everything in great detail. My mother came with me as my guardian, and after watching the surgery process through CCTV, she later told me separately in the recovery room that she felt reassured because it seemed like the director operated very meticulously. They took photos immediately after surgery, and when I saw them later, I was amazed because most plastic surgery clinics had told me that since it was non-implant surgery, the hump might not be completely removed, so I hadn’t expected it to be perfectly removed, but it had been removed very cleanly. After rhinoplasty, until the splint was removed, my breathing felt so blocked and it was really hard. On the 5th day after surgery, I felt so stuffy and worried about breathing that I contacted the hospital and visited, and I was grateful that the director checked on me (I was worried because I saw a white part inside my nose, but it was the silicone placed inside the nose after surgery). Likewise, at the 1-month mark, I was grateful that they continued to take good care of me consistently. At 1 month, the discomfort from rhinitis has improved a lot, and the hump area has also improved a lot. I’m very satisfied haha
