2 Weeks After Nose Removal

<Original nose><Surgical nose><Surgical nose 2><Removal nose (week 2)>Hello~ I debated a lot about whether to leave a review, but I gained a lot of information and comfort here, so I decided to write one!

In 2016, I had surgery using osteotomy, silicone, and septal cartilage. As a result of having surgery at a young age without looking into it properly ㅠㅠ I ended up with a nose that looked very obviously operated on. Everyone who saw me asked if I had surgery, which stressed me out so much, and after the surgery I struggled because I had nasal congestion and felt it was harder to breathe than before. I cried so much and even developed social anxiety ㅠㅠ Then I learned about removal surgery through a community, thought about it for about 5 years, and had everything removed 2 weeks ago.

Before surgery, I worried so much, and whenever I saw reviews saying things got worse after removal, I trembled thinking that might happen to me too. Even on the day of surgery, I held onto the manager and the director and cried my eyes out. Thinking about it now, that’s a little embarrassing haha

Unlike how insanely worried I was before surgery, once the surgery was actually over, I didn’t pay much attention to my nose. I kept trying to stay positive haha My swelling and bruising are really worse than other people’sㅠㅜ I still have bruisingㅠㅠ I’m worried sick because it needs to disappear before I go back to work;; I’m very jealous of people with no bruising sob sob

When the splint was first removed, I was scared to look in the mirror, but once I actually looked, it was funny haha because I could see a lot of my old face! My nose was originally a bit square-shaped, and that feeling came back, and my face looked a bit softer and more innocent. On the other hand, I also worried that this square-square nose might be the final result. Still, I think the swelling is going down a lot every day!

At week 2, my nose is exactly half original and half surgical. It’s wide and round like my original nose, but the nasal tip is still much higher than my original nose~ My nose was originally on the higher side, so thankfully I don’t really feel a loss of nasal bridge after removal haha It may also be because it’s still swelling, though. During my first surgery and also during the removal surgery, all the doctors said my nose was high!!

After the surgery, my nostril asymmetry was severe, but after removal it has almost returned to symmetrical (it was originally slightly asymmetric, but pinching it made it stand out;;), and the nostrils are still higher than my original nose, but they’re natural-looking nostrils that don’t look like an operated nose to anyone~~ My original nose barely showed the nostrils, so I even think the current one may be better haha As for breathing, I’m still not sure. I still get a lot of nasal crusting and it’s swollen, so it’s hard to check ㅜㅜ I think I’ll have to check that gradually.

It’s still only week 2, so I can’t guarantee much, but one thing is clear: my mind feels so at ease!! I found myself thinking, why was I so stressed all this time~ I’m glad I made the big decision to remove it haha I don’t know what changes will happen in the future, but I’m going to let go of my obsession with appearance a little and live positively haha Thank you for reading my review^^
