My info: It's my first nose surgery, and even my friends acknowledge I'm the king of bulbous noses. I originally hadn't thought about surgery, but a college classmate came back after getting nose surgery, and that made me want it, so I started looking into it. But the place where that friend had surgery seemed too large-scale and didn't seem right for me, so I looked at reviews, picked a few places to visit, and went.
First round, I went to Marble and Private.
At Marble, I had a consultation with Director ㄱㅈㅎ, and the final diagnosis was ☆septal cartilage + ear cartilage + bulbous nose correction☆ They said silicone use would be okay if I wanted it, but the nasal bridge height that would suit my facial features could be achieved sufficiently with septal cartilage alone. The cost also came within the range I had in mind, so I felt it was okay. At Private, I had a consultation with Director ㅇㅈㅎ, and the final diagnosis was ☆hump osteotomy + donated costal cartilage + silicone☆ Here, they were against surgery without implants. (They said my skin/tissue was tight.) From the director's view, rather than a bulbous nose, it seemed like a hump osteotomy should be done. The cost was higher than the previous hospital.
I had only thought about my bulbous nose while going to nose consultations, and had never even thought about hump + osteotomy, so after visiting those two places, I was really confused.. Since worrying alone wouldn't give me an answer anyway, I went to two more places.
Second round, I additionally went to Mint and Naturalism.
Mint has one director. The final diagnosis was ☆septal cartilage + ear cartilage☆ It was a consultation where I could really strongly feel that the director pursues natural-looking nose design. They said my skin/tissue being tight was correct, so there was no reason to force the height. The diagnosis didn't include as much as I expected.. and the cost was similar to the first hospital. At Naturalism, I had a consultation with Director ㄱㄷㅈ, and the final diagnosis was ☆septal cartilage + ear cartilage + donated costal cartilage☆ Here, they explained that if only septal cartilage and ear cartilage were used, the support structure would not be sturdy. But making a definitive statement about the septal cartilage without even taking a CT was a bit.. hmm? Still, they said surgery without implants was possible here too. The cost was the second most expensive.
The reason I was first debating was whether I could do it without implants or whether I should use silicone, but after going to two additional places, I decided not to use silicone...! Based on the cost + director consultation + diagnosis details I heard, the places I'm most torn between are Marble and Mint. (Naturalism was okay too, but among the three, the cost is the highest..) With Mint, I could strongly feel that the director likes doing things naturally, so I did wonder a bit whether I would be satisfied after surgery.
Anyway, I now more or less have a sense of how the surgery should be done, so until I set a surgery date, I'm going to keep thinking about it and am also looking into the parts I need to manage on my own after nose surgery. For example, things like nose sebum or skin care... I'm also thinking about seriously going to a dermatologist after nose surgery, but the hospital says I have to be careful, so I'm thinking about that too.
