Because of multiple revision eyelid surgeries, I still have sausage-like double eyelids, and the epicanthoplasty wasn’t done properly, so the Mongolian fold is still there. When I had another revision eyelid surgery 7 months ago, they used the double-line excision technique, so I’m left with scars as well as everything else. I was so stressed that I went around to about 20 clinics for consultations..
After visiting all of them, I’m torn between 2 clinics, but they’re total opposites, so I’m posting this. Both places handle a lot of extreme eye cases. One place said they would remove the double-eyelid scar by excising it, then just remove the Mongolian fold in the front. But they said I should be prepared for an inner double eyelid.. Still, I thought maybe an inner double eyelid would be better than sausage eyelids, so I paid the deposit and came back. But when I looked up reviews, there were a lot of people who ended up with eyes that looked like inner double eyelids or almost monolids I have some flesh on my upper eyelids, so honestly I’m a bit hesitant because I’m worried the double eyelid might end up looking pressed down if things go wrong And I don’t have much spare skin left now either. This is my last chance, so I keep worrying what if I don’t like it again
The other place said they didn’t think cutting the double eyelid more or doing more to it now would make it better, and recommended cat-eye double-eyelid revision (a procedure I’m also unfamiliar with) and changing the posterior angle. They said if I do the cat-eye double-eyelid revision, the outer corner of the eye will look lifted, so the double eyelid would bother me less. It felt like they were focusing more on making the eyes prettier than on revision surgery itself. They said to do the posterior surgery first, then reconsider the front or the double-eyelid line afterward.
But when I looked at reviews for cat-eye double-eyelid revision, a lot of them had double eyelids that looked slightly lifted only at the ends.. But since I already don’t like my current line, I wonder if I might actually be more dissatisfied if the end gets lifted even more. And the price is on the higher side too..,, It’s a very famous clinic with lots of reviews, and I do think it would definitely improve the aesthetics compared with my current eyes, but I’m also wondering whether that would really relieve the stress I have about my sausage eyelids... Also, from the reviews, I heard they sometimes refuse by saying they can’t do double-eyelid surgery. If I still don’t like the sausage-like eyelids after the posterior surgery, I’d need them improved, but I’m worried they might refuse then and say it can’t be done... Then I’d have to go around for consultations again with sausage eyelids at that point
