I am posting this painful experience in the hope that it may help people who are considering plastic surgery..

In April 2015, I had nose surgery at ㅇㅇㄷ Hospital, which now has a large building near Sinsa Station. I had rhinoplasty using silicone and ear cartilage.

Starting in 2020, the tip of my nose became red, swollen, and painful. The photos below are original photos that have not been edited with Photoshop or anything else.

Then something like bone started protruding from the tip of my nose.

In 2021, I went back to the hospital, had a consultation, paid the fee, and underwent removal surgery. The doctor said it would be fine as long as I had the removal surgery, and I wanted to end this horrible situation quickly, so although I wondered why I had to pay, I just had the surgery to resolve it quickly.

And I am writing this because I am curious about something. When I went in for the surgery, they clearly said they would give me sedation anesthesia, but I do not know whether what I had was really sedation anesthesia or what the criteria for sedation anesthesia are, so I am writing this. Even the person administering anesthesia asked why I had not been anesthetized yet and whether it had been decided not to do sedation anesthesia, and said, “It will be hard during the disinfection...” I was conscious, and in that state they dug all the way to the tip of my nose while disinfecting it.. After that whole time passed and the doctor came in, even though I still had not been anesthetized, he just grabbed and pulled the foreign material protruding from the tip of my nose. I felt all that pain, and then I was anesthetized.

After finishing the foreign-body removal surgery like that, I went back to have the stitches removed. After the stitches were removed, my nose kept hurting and kept becoming red and swollen. When I looked inside my nose, there was a hole inside my nose. It hurt so much and I was so shocked that I set aside my livelihood and rushed to the hospital, and the doctor said, “The hole is not something to make an issue of at all. But why hasn’t the skin depression at the tip of the nose gotten better?” He tilted his head and just left haha. I have a timid personality, so I could not say anything there either.. Then he told me to buy something like Fucidin and apply it. This is also stated in the medical record..

Once again, I trusted only the doctor’s words, calmed my shocked heart, bought scar medication and something like Fucidin ointment at the pharmacy, and went home.

And then another problem occurred. Something started protruding again through that hole..

Really, every person I met asked what it was, and I heard voices behind my back.. Even comments being passed around saying I would have to redo my nose surgery. The days of stress continued.

Then I brought my parents with me and went to the hospital, and the doctor said, “If I thought of this as something that happened to my own younger sibling, another surgery would leave scars again and require cutting the skin, which could strain the skin, so rather than doing surgery, we can do local anesthesia, cut off what is protruding from the tip of the nose, and if it does not protrude again, you can just live with it.”

Then we went to the treatment room in the basement, and I thought he would do local anesthesia, but without taking any measures, he just pulled it again. If you listen to the recording, you can hear me saying it hurts.. Then he just cut it, called my mother, and said, “This seems like silicone protruding, so removal surgery will be needed. I will explain the cost to you,” and left.. haha

They told me I had to pay if I wanted to have surgery again. I was truly dumbfounded. Then he said that if I did not have the surgery again, my nose could collapse, because he had removed the tied suture. Until the time the suture was removed, there had not even been any mention that it might collapse. Even thinking back on it now, I feel faint. What on earth was I told.. And I have a job where I absolutely have to wear a mask, but when I wore a mask, my nose was pressed down and the foreign-body sensation at the tip of my nose became so severe that when I looked in the mirror, my nose moved as if it were divided into three sections. So from then on, I could not wear a mask while working. Even now, I work without wearing a mask because I am afraid my nose might collapse, and I am scared to face people. This is a current photo of my nose.

The thing attached above is silicone.

Whenever I went there, there were also many foreigners. I do not live in Seoul, and just traveling back and forth to Seoul because of something bad like this has been so hard, so I worry how hard it would be for foreigners if they had surgery, went back to their hometowns, and something similar happened. I really hope anyone planning to get plastic surgery thinks very carefully before doing it. I never thought something like this would happen to me. Please think it over one more time.. I am ending this post in the hope that even one person can avoid harm. Thank you for reading this long post.
