It’s day 15 since my surgery. I had surgery for a deviated septum + osteotomy + nostril reduction.. It was my first surgery, and I had it done without an implant using autologous costal cartilage + septal cartilage. Surprisingly, I didn’t bruise at all, and I was worried about the autologous costal cartilage, but it hurt less than I expected, so it was okay. Today was the day to remove the stitches inside my nose and the stitches from the area where the autologous costal cartilage was harvested, so I went to the hospital happily, but as soon as they looked at my nose, they said there was blood pooled inside. They drew blood out with a syringe, checked the color, and immediately did open irrigation.... The doctor said it didn’t look like inflammation, but said we’ll monitor the progress and they might even have to remove all the autologous costal cartilage that was put in. And for some people, they only drain the blood, but in my case they opened it right away... Right afterward it hurt so much, and they said to keep the cotton packing in for 3 days and then check the progress.... ha Can this be finished with just one open irrigation...? I was so scared of inflammation that I deliberately chose no implant and used autologous costal cartilage even though it was my first surgery, so I feel so depressed and awful. If I could go back to before the surgery, I feel like I’d do anythingㅜㅜ
