Review after visiting 13 nose surgery clinics (long post)

Hi, I’m going to share my clinic-visit review for my first nose surgery. My nasal bridge is high, but my nasal tip is spread out, so I’m looking for a place that can make a long nose look pretty and lifted without an implant. Honestly, my natural nose is already on the decent-looking side, so everyone tries to stop me when I say I’m getting surgery, but I want a slightly more feminine line, so I’m looking into it without getting too greedy.

I’m an office worker, so I made my lineup based on places famous by word of mouth on Blind, the office-worker community. I automatically filtered out places that advertise on Instagram, so I think I made my own clinic-visit list of good, broker-free options. I’ll start now.

(But I’m not sure if it’s okay to post all the names like this instead of using initials. I joined a week ago and this is my first post... If there’s a problem, please tell me right away and I’ll edit it!!!)

Be The New, formerly Conopi (Jung Tae-young, Apgujeong) - recommended - The director seems to have long experience and a good eye. But he looked a bit tired. It seems like he does 4 surgeries?! a day. I heard the really good places usually do only about two or three... That bothers me a bit, and the consultation and shape seemed okay, so I’m considering it.

Byeol (Hong Yong-taek, Gangnam) - recommended - There are two directors here. The ENT director also seems famous, but I just had a consultation with the plastic surgery director as recommended. The director was very warm and explained things in detail, so I got about a 50% feeling that it would go well. I’m considering this place too, but it somehow doesn’t have much impact, and I want to do it in Apgujeong, so I’m not very drawn to Gangnam. But I do trust the director himself.

Cocoline (Kim Sun-gu, Apgujeong) - recommended - As soon as they saw my nose, they immediately identified the issues like a fortune-teller and pointed them out precisely. It felt like they knew how to make my face look harmoniously prettier, so I liked this place the most. But there were quite a few bad reviews in this community... Honestly, if it weren’t for those reviews, I would have done it here right away. Those reviews bother me so much that I’m still thinking.. If anyone here has had it done here, please leave a comment ㅠㅠㅠ Please!!!!

Gaam (Heo Jin, Apgujeong) - recommended - This is the only place that looked at my nose and honestly told me my shape is okay even now and that I shouldn’t get surgery. The director has been seeing only noses in Apgujeong for 27 years and is a go-to place for revision surgery. They don’t do review-event discounts at all and are famous for very natural results. This place is apparently so good at surgery that they don’t even pack the nose with cotton, even though it’s open surgery. Their technique must be that good. It probably won’t happen, but if I ever need revision surgery, I’ll definitely go here. The reason I’m hesitating for my first surgery is that if I’m going to do it anyway, I want it to show a bit, and I’m worried it may be too natural here and feel disappointing.

Yedam (Cho Sung-don, Apgujeong) - recommended - This is also a place in Apgujeong that has been run for over 20 years by one representative director, and they’re known for doing very natural results. But because they barely advertise, there are too few reviews, which is a bit frustrating. It seems like they try to preserve the nose as much as possible and touch it less. There’s a very high chance I’ll do it here, but I’m still thinking.

Yejin (Lee Ye-jin, Apgujeong) - recommended - First of all, the director looked like my first love, so I felt excited during the consultation,, ;; She is older and has been doing this in Apgujeong for over 20 years. I heard she used to be at Sehyun and then left, so she seems skilled. I visited only famous single-director clinics, but this place was the most expensive.. The first digit was different.. For my nose, other places were in the 2-4 range, but only here was 5.. They do virtual plastic surgery on a pad here. They said they do it naturally, but it’s so expensive that I’m a bit torn..

Naturalism (Kim Deok-jung) - half and half - Here too, maybe the director has a good eye, because as soon as he saw my nose, he designed it in a direction that would suit my face and explained it. Like Cocoline, he seemed to have aesthetic sense, so I was drawn to it, but this was the only place that said they might use donated costal cartilage.. (Not definitely, only if the septal cartilage is insufficient or deviated.) Other doctors said donated costal cartilage has a high absorption rate and can cause shape deformation, and that my nose can be done with only septal cartilage + ear cartilage.. That made me wonder, “Are they a bit lacking in skill?” If anyone wants a director who uses costal cartilage well, this place might be fine. For me, it’s my first surgery and I’m only doing the tip, so I don’t want to take on the risk of donated costal cartilage, so I probably won’t do it here.

Yonsei Coen (Choi Yoon-seok) - half and half - This is an ENT clinic, and they gave a somewhat different perspective from the other directors and didn’t seem greedy, so I trusted them. I recommend going once. They do virtual plastic surgery on a pad. But they seemed too busy and a bit blunt, and because they’re not a plastic-surgery specialty clinic, there were many general ENT patients, so it felt a bit chaotic. That’s why I classified it as half and half. They said part of rhinitis treatment can be covered by actual-expense insurance.

Ahn Sung-jin (Ahn Sung-jin, Apgujeong) - half and half - This director seriously feels like a mad artist. Like an intense, passionate elderly master with a hint of madness. So aesthetically, he may be excellent, but I felt he doesn’t think enough about function. If you go here, he doesn’t just look at the nose; he looks at the balance and image of the whole face. He tells harsh truths though lol. I recommend getting a consultation at least once. But I recommend only getting the consultation and not doing surgery here. I felt a bit of madness. The consultation content is helpful.

Simmian (Jung Dong-hak, Gangnam) - not recommended - As soon as he saw my nose, he pinpointed exactly what would make it prettier like a shaman and expressed it very accurately. Honestly, I wondered if there had ever been a director who identified the points this clearly and accurately. But the director was so, so authoritarian and unfriendly that the atmosphere made conversation or communication impossible, so I classified it as not recommended. Also, the managers looked like totally overdone plastic-surgery monsters, like witches, and I was so shocked by their faces that I decided I shouldn’t do it here. If I were the director, I don’t think I could look at those faces with both eyes open.

Hyundai Aesthetics (Kim Jong-gu, Sinsa) - not recommended - The director seems to have no aesthetic sense at all. The issue with my nose is that everything is fine, but the tip droops a little, making the midface look long. But under the pretext of raising it, he suggested making it even longer. If I had gotten surgery here, it would have been a total disaster. The nose would be higher, but the midface would look even longer;;;; It’s already long. Among the places I visited, this place was the cheapest. It naturally made me think cheap things are cheap for a reason.

With (Lee Sung-joo, Apgujeong) - not recommended - I should have gone to With Yuwonil, but I unknowingly went to just With by mistake. The director graduated from Seoul National University, but he doesn’t seem skilled. Other places all said osteotomy can be done under sedation, but only this place said to do general anesthesia. And the manager kept saying so blatantly that they’d give a discount if I brought cash that it felt materialistic.

Sehyun (Yoo Hyun-seok, Apgujeong) - not recommended - I went by word of mouth because it’s supposedly very famous as a prestigious place for nose surgery, but he seemed to have less discernment than I expected. It felt like he has a fixed nose shape he wants and doesn’t think about harmony with my face. I saw somewhere that he’s older now and his sense has declined. Anyway, I probably won’t do it here.

Cheongdam Byeol (Jung Woo-cheol, Cheongdam) - strongly not recommended - The director is an extremely old grandpa whose hands tremble. It seemed like they made non-open rhinoplasty their concept, but they still cut all the places that need small incisions anyway. It was a shocking, horrifying waste-of-time consultation that satisfied none of surgery skill, aesthetic sense, or kindness. I have 0.01 bad feelings toward them. I’m just saying the facts as I felt them.

Other places that were on my clinic-visit list but I couldn’t go because reservations were too backed up (I only have time until early February, so if you have time, book ahead and go.) - Mint, Misou, First Button, With Yuwonil, JK, Kim In-joong, Koshop, Rococo, JW Jungwon (Director Seo)

Other places I don’t recommend (Instagram ads) - Wonjin, Vista, Saegim, Banobagi, Made Young, DA

Other places I don’t recommend (based on reviews) - Last, Top Class, Louvre, Marble, Obli, Premier, AB, JT, Dareum, Nose Lab, Brown, Very Good (Kang Hak-doo), Migo, Baroko

⭐ If anyone has had nose surgery at Gaam, Cocoline, Be The New (Conopi), Byeol, Yedam, or Yejin, please comment!!!! ㅠㅠㅠㅠ I think I’ll decide on one of these places, so please please interfere!!! ❤️
