Review after visiting 2 places for nose surgery consultations

1 AN Plus Clinic

I went on time for my appointment. The chart staff atmosphere was not great. Took a CT and waited. Waited 20 minutes past the appointment time. The director called me in with a chic expression. He looked at the CT, looked at my nose, and briefly asked when I first had surgery and when I removed the silicone. Since he was silent even after looking at the CT, I asked what the thing protruding inside my nostril was. He asked, "Is there something there?" Only then did he touch it and look with a microscope. "What is this?" I don't remember whether he mentioned Medpor. After silicone removal, a bit of Medpor was protruding on the inner right side. He said it was a foreign material. "Why didn't they remove this when removing the silicone?" Then he just looked at the condition and said it was contracture, contracture. He diligently wrote in the chart, told me to remove it, get stem cell treatment for about 4 to 6 months and 20 injections, and after that have revision surgery with autologous costal cartilage. He didn't ask about my attitude or my opinion, so I lost any questions I had and just thought, what is this? He judged everything alone and said this is what needs to be done, end. He never once asked if I had any questions and just stared at my eyes for 2 seconds. When I didn't say anything, he told me to go out and consult with the manager. The director left first. Since I was waiting outside, the manager told me to come. She just roughly looked at what was written in the chart and said removal + stem cell treatment is 3 million won, revision surgery with autologous costal cartilage is 8 million won, end. I asked, "Isn't there anything from the website event that applies?" She said contracture doesn't apply. She wrote down the details and said think about it, end. Consultation with the director and manager each ended in less than 10 minutes. I felt like I was treated like someone who had done something wrong, like do it if you want, don't if you don't. It was absurd. I regret the time I spent trying to get there on time from the morning. Consultation fee 10,000 won.

2 Yonsei Saint

I planned the route with the closer place first. Since AN Plus ended way too early, I still went over. Even though I arrived early, I filled out a simple form and there was actually no wait. The director called me in, I sat down, lowered my mask, and showed him my nose. I said there was slight depression, I had only removed the silicone, and something was protruding on the inner right side. He looked and immediately said, "This is Medpor, isn't it? Why wasn't this removed? It should have been done when the silicone was removed." Then his first words were, "Oh dear... what would you like to do?" I really liked that. Since I had only removed the silicone at an ENT clinic, I had thought revision surgery would be possible right away, but after hearing that removal had to be done and then surgery again, I felt dazed. He talked clearly about the risks and likelihood of inflammation. 1. Just removal only. 2. Since removal only would feel lacking, lower it only with ear cartilage. 3. Open it up, decide the design, and if possible even though it is a bit aggressive, proceed while removing it. He did not recommend this because the chance of inflammation is high. He said the depression was nothing serious and that it could simply be incised and sutured, a simple issue, so I felt reassured. He thought through three or four possible methods with me. The consultation only ended when I finished talking. I think the consultation lasted over 30 minutes. After greeting him, I consulted with the manager. The estimate came out stronger than I expected. She explained it a bit businesslike, but since what she does is repetitive, the estimate explanation was so-so. I asked various things, and somehow she knew and explained everything just like the doctor/director. I consulted with the manager for over 30 minutes too. It doesn't end before I end it. She told me to think about it a lot. It is the style of the director and hospital, but everything I can do in my situation was organized. It bothers me a bit that there is no anesthesiology specialist. I comfortably received the consultation and estimate and came out. No CT was taken, consultation fee 5,000 won.

I trust the director, but the estimate is a bit on the high side, so I think it may be difficult to do it here. Starting tomorrow I will keep visiting more places, and I plan to decide after going to about 10 more, so I haven't crossed Yonsei Saint off yet.
