I already had surgery after these consultations, but I’m reposting my consultation review to level up★ . . .
My nose has the worst rhinitis in the world, and the nose itself is high from the glabella, but the tip is extremely bulbous, so when I wear glasses I get called a "nose-face" a lot.
Out of all my facial features, my nose is the one I like least, by far.
So I wanted cosmetic surgery, but I didn’t even have money for cosmetic surgery, and at the same time I felt it was wasteful to spend a few million won, so while looking into things I found out about something called functional rhinoplasty.
It was the kind of surgery people do when they can get a reimbursement by treating rhinitis together, using actual medical insurance, but anyway, after looking into a community and other places too, I spent three weeks visiting hospitals famous for nose surgery for consultations.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Rㅋㅋ - Famous for shaping the nose well, so I went first. It didn’t seem that busy, but overall it was just chaotic.
Maybe because the director was busy? I thought the explanation was insufficient. Oh, and they said there was no need to do it together with the septum (I thought this was a bit off, because I had already been diagnosed at a university hospital with a severely deviated septum, etc.). The consultation manager was kind, but gave a realistic impression? She said that even if I did functional rhinoplasty together, my nose would still be difficult, but that post-op care would be systematic and good. I paid the booking deposit.
ㅇㅍ - Overall, as soon as I walked in, the hospital was clean, and honestly the director and the consultation manager were all extremely kind. That’s the only thing I remember. It seemed like they didn’t do as many surgeries as I expected.
ㅇㄴㅁㄷ - The director explained things very well in a concise way. Compared with other places, he didn’t say unnecessary things. And he was honest. He was probably the most honest about my nose. He said there was a limit to how much bulbosity could be corrected, since it wasn’t an open incision.
ㅅㅍㅅ - The front desk was kind. The director explained why cosmetic surgery should be done together with the septum. But I felt the same way. And the consultation manager didn’t speak in vague terms like "it seems like we’ll do this"; she said things clearly like "we will do this, please keep that in mind," which I liked. And they knew the most about insurance reimbursement, by far. On the day I went for consultation, I saw the celebrity Lee Seung-chul and took a photoㅋㅋ They said a lot of celebrities come. Oh, and because the director is an ENT specialist, he has a lot of experience, and if you peek at the patients who come back for aftercare, their noses look pretty. I paid the booking deposit.
ㅇㅈㅇ - Since he wasn’t an ENT specialist, that was the thing I worried about the most. No matter how much cosmetic surgery someone has done, if they don’t really know noses, I felt like something might go wrong with mine? If you only look at the shape, it wouldn’t matter, but anyway, my biggest goal was to get rid of the rhinitis too, so I didn’t really place much meaning on this hospital.
ㅇㅇㄷ - Too expensive, seriously insanely expensive. They tell you to do every test imaginable even when it isn’t needed for the surgery, which is annoying. It also felt very factory-like, just not good.
ㄷㄷㅇ - Not expensive. But they didn’t explain things well. The explanation kept dragging on and on. It was insufficient.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I copied this over exactly as I wrote it in my memo app each time. I put down deposits at two places, but honestly I’m still deciding.
I’d heard a lot about Rㅋㅋ, so I paid the deposit first, but I have a strong feeling I’d be uneasy if I actually had surgery there, so I’m still thinking about it.
What I’m most drawn to is ㅅㅍㅅ. It turned out my friend also consulted there, and somehow it feels like a place only people in the know would know about.
I’m thinking about surgery in mid-July, so I’ll think about it some more, call again for another consultation, and then continue this later ㅇㅅㅇㅋㅋ~~~~~
