Before/after/after/after Hi everyone! I took a lot of everyone’s advice into account and got a lot of reference material, so I got through my first rhinoplasty safely and well. I thought that later, if I liked how I looked even a little, I should post a review. I’ll just ramble a bit.
I used to have almost no nasal bridge and had wide, spread-out nostril wings. Maybe because my nasal bridge was low, I often heard that my mouth looked more protrusive and that I always looked sulky. To hide my nasal bridge, I would wear my bangs long in front, and thinking back now, I think I contoured a bit too heavily too. I even got to the point of wondering whether people were looking at me because my nose looked strange. One day, once I realized I was thinking that much about it, I concluded that I really did need a change and should have surgery.
From then on, I started searching for clinics. Just looking into clinics and seeing changed review photos made me excited, like I was seeing my future self.
The place I unexpectedly liked was a plastic surgery clinic. I had also been very interested in breast surgery, so I knew it was a well-known place, but since its recognition for noses was not as high compared with breasts, I think I hesitated for quite a while. I was casually scrolling past things, then got hooked by one review photo and kept debating, but finally thought, whatever, let’s at least get a consultation; I felt like I’d reach a conclusion after the consultation.
I went for the consultation, and the director’s consultation style was, just like the reviews said, very meticulous. The part that impressed me a lot was that they frankly told me about possible side effects or drawbacks that could apply to me, without sugarcoating. They also asked my opinion from time to time and explained the materials and surgical method in a way that was easy to understand. I think it was the longest consultation among all the places I visited. I liked it, but I still couldn’t help worrying about the clinic’s recognition right until the end. After thinking for a few days, I did end up making a reservation.
I wanted a natural line, so I didn’t go high. I had 3 mm silicone + septal cartilage + ear cartilage + nostril reduction.
Even up until the day I went to have the splint removed after surgery, the covered nose looked very swollen and I felt like there wasn’t much change in the nasal bridge, so I didn’t have high expectations. Fortunately, the nostril reduction turned out well too, and the nasal bridge and nasal tip line settled overall in a way I liked, without any parts that bothered me. I wasn’t the type to swell severely in the first place, so I’m satisfied even now. As time passes and the minor swelling goes down more, I think I may like it even more than I do now.
These days, since I somehow have more confidence, taking care of myself has become fun. Like a butterfly effect, I started dieting, paying more attention to my clothes, and putting more effort into makeup too. ^^ I ended up rambling about things that probably aren’t that helpful~ I hope everyone does good online and in-person research and gets the results they wanted! Let’s get prettier!
