Nose Surgery Reviews

Exhausting in-person reviews after visiting 8 nose clinics

I wrote this down right away in my notes app as soon as each consultation ended because I was afraid I’d forget, so the wording may be a bit messy and the organization may be off. Please keep that in mind when reading.

First off, my nose is the worst-case combo: a hump nose, bulbous nose, and arrow nose

-------------------------------------------------- M.H. / Y.S.H. Ear cartilage + septal cartilage CT: yes / consultation fee: 10,000 won Price: in the 4 million won range Consultation order: Head coordinator - doctor - head coordinator But when I first met the coordinator, did we even talk for about 2 minutes? It felt more like filling out a chart before seeing the doctor than a real consultation. It wasn’t a long consult. Just a quick, "What do you want improved? Did you bring photos? What do you think of the model?" and that was it. I didn’t really get the impression they were very kind. Very sales-driven consultation. And the front desk, how should I put it... felt like they hadn’t been trained well. While I was waiting, I overheard them talking to another customer, and the speech was really half-polite. The tone was like, "Did you get disinfected?" rather than something like, "Would you like me to disinfect you?" Hard to explain, but the vibe was very much not good. I like the doctor, but the staff are all not great. AS: 1 year They said they only shave down 50-70% of the hump. No osteotomy needed. They use ear dermis, ear cartilage, and septal cartilage. When I asked about costal cartilage, they didn’t recommend it. They said if the hump is raised, there will be a hollow between the bridge and the tip, so they’d add ear dermis. When I said I wanted a small, delicate nose, they said then they couldn’t raise the tip very much because the nose would become too large. They said a line somewhere between straight and slightly straight was possible.

Y.Y. / B.B.J. Ear cartilage + septal cartilage + osteotomy CT: yes / consultation fee: no Price: in the low 3 million won range Order: coordinator - doctor - coordinator First of all, there were so many people, seriously. They recommended osteotomy. The coordinator looked young. The first thing they said when I walked in was, "Are those Uggs?" Were they trying to seem friendly? It didn’t really come across that way. And they somehow seemed annoyed, leaning back in the chair while talking. The consultation felt flashy on the outside but empty on the inside... They kept telling me to ask questions, but I had nothing to ask. Even when I did ask, they just said you can’t know until you actually have surgery They were so strong-willed... I couldn’t get a detailed explanation They kept saying you have to open everything up to know. I don’t remember exactly what it was about, but when I asked something, they said something like, "That’s the kind of deep conversation doctors have among themselves," which made me feel awkward Even if they’re skilled, I don’t think I’d go there. The coordinator was fairly kind, but looked young, maybe mid-20s?

N.O.D. Ear cartilage + septal cartilage Order: coordinator - doctor - coordinator Consultation fee: no / CT: yes / price: in the upper 3 million won range The doctor said that when he was a salaried doctor, he was frustrated that he couldn’t see each surgery patient one by one. So for follow-up, the same doctor would handle everything from start to finish, and they said he personally does all the follow-up checks too. They said there isn’t a separate follow-up coordinator. This was the best consultation for me. I want a small nose, but my nose already has a hump and is fairly high They said a small nose wouldn’t be possible. I know that, but it’s still disappointing. They said it would end up at about the level of NewJeans’ Minji or Go Yoon-jung... That was devastating. I definitely prefer a lower bridge,, The doctor seemed confident. They said my skin is really nice, soft, and that it’s a nose that should do well in surgery. The coordinator consultation was long, and the doctor’s consultation wasn’t bad either. It felt trustworthy, so if it were up to me I’d have wanted to reserve that day, but it was too expensive, so I’m putting it on hold for now. They said a slightly straight line is possible, and if it drops, it would drop into a straight line. Also, random TMI, but the coordinator took my lip info They took a photo of it and it was so funny.

M.A.D. / Y.Y.T. Ear cartilage + septal cartilage + osteotomy + costal cartilage CT: yes / consultation fee: 10,000 won Price: in the low 4 million won range (if costal cartilage is needed during surgery, low 5 million won range) Order: coordinator - doctor - coordinator I had a brief consultation with the coordinator, then with the doctor. They didn’t really ask me anything or what I wanted. They recommended osteotomy, though not forcefully, because the septal cartilage is too small, they said costal cartilage would be needed. But this was the only clinic that said the septal cartilage was too small. It seemed like the coordinator had heard my concerns from the first consult, because as soon as I arrived they started drawing on their own in Photoshop what my nose might look like after surgery while talking to me. Their voice was soft and quiet, so at first I was like, what are they even saying... I spaced out. From other reviews, people say they’re thorough and kind, and that’s true, but somehow it just didn’t suit me It didn’t leave much of an impression. It’s not a private clinic either, yet the price is high.

B.Y.B. No implant, ear cartilage + septal cartilage CT: yes / consultation fee: no Order: coordinator - doctor - coordinator Price: upper 4 million won range, but if the schedule is adjusted it can drop to the mid-3 million won range The coordinator consultation was okay. Not bad. Not super kind or anything, but appropriately decent... They kept asking which other clinics I had consulted and writing them down, then saying places like those aren’t even real competition for their clinic, and that aside from N.O.D., none of them are private clinics. They seemed to think, "Are these really the kind of clinics that are good at no-implant surgery?" I don’t really like that kind of comparison talk. I also felt like, why lower other clinics just to make your own point? But honestly, you don’t choose a clinic based on the coordinator, you choose based on the doctor, so it’s not something worth worrying about too much. Still, it rubbed me the wrong way. And the waiting time was a bit long. As soon as the doctor came in, they said I was pretty, which made me feel a little better. They said my septal cartilage is a usable size, but my ear cartilage is a bit small, so it could be used both above and below. They did recommend an implant, but said if I didn’t like that, okay. Still, they thought using a very thin implant would make the line look a little prettier. I can kind of agree with that. My bridge is low, so that seems to be why. But I don’t want a high bridge, so I’ll go with no implant. It wasn’t something that made a huge impression, but the consultation itself wasn’t bad, and it’s hard to take it off the list. Among all the consultations I’ve had so far, this place and N.O.D. seem the best.

S.W. Ear cartilage + septal cartilage + osteotomy Price: in the low 5 million won range CT: yes / consultation fee: 10,000 won / 20,000 won Cartilage rearrangement + osteotomy + hump shaving The doctor consultation wasn’t great. It seemed professional, but... It feels like the clinic has a style they’re aiming for. They said they probably wouldn’t be able to correct the bulbous nose extremely well. The coordinator seems to do a better job consulting. They charge 10,000 won for consultation and only talked for less than 5 minutes. They charged 20,000 won for the CT fee My money. I couldn’t get a detailed explanation. They didn’t even show me the reference photos of the look I wanted; they didn’t ask to see them. They said they would cut the hump rather than file it down. When I said I hadn’t gotten an explanation from the doctor about how much the line could be raised, the coordinator explained it. Seriously, the coordinator should be the doctor. If I just listened to the coordinator, I felt like I’d pay immediately. Their sales pitch is strong. But the doctor and I didn’t really click... They touched my nose way too much They said cartilage rearrangement is needed, which is something I had never even considered, so I’m keeping that in mind. I learned this one thing for 30,000 won; I’ll ask other clinics about it. Also, I should have asked the coordinator about their mascara, it was so pretty ㄲㅂ

G.R.B. / N.B.Y. Ear cartilage + septal cartilage CT: 10,000 won / price: in the low 2 million won range / AS: 10 years The waiting time was two hours^^ I was in a terrible mood, but after the doctor consultation I felt a bit better. They only do noses, and maybe because of their long experience, it felt trustworthy... and because of that, the doctor was a bit older. The consultation was more detailed than the others I’d had. Maybe because I’ve learned more as I’ve gone around to consultations, I asked a lot of questions so it became quite deep, but the doctor was busy so they rushed out Osteotomy would be nice too, but it’s okay not to do it. If there’s asymmetry in the bone part of the nose, they can shave that down, but they said the cartilage part can’t be fixed. Everything was good, but I saw in reviews that it looked so natural and invisible that some people had revision surgery, so hmm, I’m torn. The price is a real advantage.

E.N. / C.T.J. Ear cartilage + septal cartilage CT fee: no / 4 million won range -> if booked the same day, low 3 million won range The coordinator was kind, even though they kept asking where I had been and what I’d done. Since I seemed to be hesitating, they asked why I was worried, offered a discount, and so on. There was a bit of pressure to book the same day because they discounted a lot, but it seemed like the kind of pressure you can just brush off. Not bad. The wait was a bit long. The doctor was in and out in five minutes It felt like the rest was being thrown over to the coordinator... The consultation was just okay because it wasn’t very thorough. They were the only ones who suggested removing the columella support tissue. Other than that, it was similar to the others. The coordinator said that if I booked the same day, they could discount it to the low 3 million won range. Is that even possible? I really learned that in plastic surgery, the price is whatever they say it is,, It wasn’t hugely impressive, but it wasn’t bad either. I wish the doctor’s consultation had been a little more detailed,,

-------------------------------------------------- I’ve consulted this much already, but I’m still wondering whether I should go to more places or not I’m posting this in case it helps anyone else who’s doing online research too,,!!
