I came in because it had been a while and I was thinking about getting another surgery, and since I might as well raise my points.. I’m leaving a 1-year review haha. First, sorry there are no photos! I had it done at one of the two famous clinics~ I feel like protruding mouth surgery is something you could never do again if you knew what it was like I think I did well because I didn’t know. Otherwise, I’d probably still be drifting around this community like a ghost, just reading reviews.. First of all, I’m the person who posted an early surgery review in November, and when I read that post again, it reminded me of that time and made me laugh and feel sad. And the most painful surgery I’d had was my nose surgery, but this surpassed it.. lol (what I’ve had so far are eyes and nose, but both failed haha)
Anyway, I struggled with bloody phlegm until orthodontic treatment and finally entered the path of braces. The braces were seriously curse-inducing too Pain every time I chewed.. I thought I could finally try eating something tasty, but since it hurt every time I chewed, I couldn’t eat properly again. So my personality just got more sensitive.. I got irritated at my boyfriend all the time, then reflected on myself and got depressed again.. I wasn’t worried about swelling, and it went down well. Since I keep getting plastic surgery, I don’t care about swelling anymore.. I also don’t have facial fat, so I actually wished the swelling wouldn’t go down.. lol Those few months of braces really felt like years..
The downside is the elderly-looking mouth shape everyone knows about.. that issue.. When I smile, my lips definitely feel like they roll inward a bit, and I do smile a bit like an elderly person. But I expected it, so I just.. accepted it. And it feels like my philtrum looks longer haha. But it was long even before surgery.. so I’m planning to look into that separately and get surgery for it. And cheek hollowing! That definitely became more noticeable. It’s worse because my structure has little cheek fat haha. But I accepted this too, and it isn’t severe.
The advantage is that my side profile is definitely cleaner, so I’m so happy lol. It’s not dramatic..? but I’m satisfied in my eyes, and my friends say it doesn’t show from the front, but when taking photos from the side or seeing me from the side, there’s definitely a “wow~” effect. I used to puff air into my cheeks every day when taking photos, but now I don’t have to worry about that, so I’m so happy Right after surgery I was full of regret, but after a year I don’t even think about it.
Anyway.. if even with all those downsides you still want to do it, then I think doing it is right.. I think only people who are that desperate should do it. The money is also a lot
